To me the biggest issue for us next season will be the absence of crowds at Anfield. The home support has played a big part for us this season in the PL and in the CL last season. Especially in tough or close games, the crowds have made a difference.

I agree very much, it just highlights how influential the anfield crowd can be when we need to go up a gear. It will be a loss no doubt but we need to prepare as best as we can to playing for 90mins knowing that they won't get any burst of momentum from the crowd who so often has given that extra edge to lift our performance.

Fully agree, OP. That is what a lot of people are not realizing. Of all the teams in the PL and in Europe, LFC is arguably the only team whose fans can actually influence the outcome of games. Do not underestimate the impact Anfield has had on this team and it's upward trajectory for the past 3 years in the PL and in Europe. It is more than massive.
The hope is that the team can rise above this obstacle and move forward cos stadiums won't be open to the public anytime soon.

Totally agree with the OP.

A podcast I listened to earlier mentioned that Liverpool rely on the crowd possibly more than any other team in the world. I’d be inclined to agree with that. No other elite club can produce quite like Liverpool fans.
A crowd also lessens the likelihood of players sauntering through matches as has been the case recently.

Correct! Liverpool fans are the best in the world.

inter milan crowd can be pretty intimidating
.

{Ed002's Note - Galatasaray CL in 1999.}

Well BoJo has just announced a possibility, and it is only a possibility of having crowds in stadiums circa October. Quite to what extent that would be he didn’t say, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

prob same as scotland are planning, 1 meter apart and season ticket holders only to start with looking at a phased return.

Elite clubs, Ed002. Galatasaray are not one of them.

{Ed002's Note - Actually they are.}

17 Jul 2020 14:48:22
Ed002 - Actually, they are not.

{Ed001's Note - why do some of you like to argue when you are ignorant? Galatasaray are very much classed as an elite club. Just stop before you make a total fool of yourself.}

Lowel mate. Not being condescending in any way, shape or form - get yourself to Galatasaray away you’ll soon know 👍.

I've been thinking the exact same thing. I think we've really missed the crowd since the break. We are the champions of Europe must really big the boys up. And how often have we seen the fans singing a players name and tjen he goes and scores or creates?

With the fans comes the history, and our history must be very intimidating. I think we really miss them. Conversely utd are performing well without the enormous pressure their fans bring.

Oh. An elite club outside of the British Isles? How is that possible? (Sorry. No offense intended to anybody. Just couldn't help it. And fooling around a bit) .
