Although Liverpool have won the league by a large margin. They are weak in a few areas. Man U bought Bruno Fernandes. Liverpool needed a player just like that. They also need an out and out striker like Timo Werner.
These deficiencies will show up next season. Their recent form is already beginning to show this. The big spenders will always win.
Although it looks like Arteta is doing a good job at Arsenal.

A dedicated centre forward and a very creative midfielder. A partner for Van Dijk.
The players we have are good, but looking at the opposition. An extra dimension is needed.
I am sorry we did not sign Timo Werner.
Next season will be a lot more difficult.

We've functioned just fine the last two seasons and won the CL and PL without either a Fernandes or a Werner. I don't understand why people think these are big gaps in our side that are going to cost us next season.

Likewise City won the league twice without a Firmino, a Salah or an Alexander-Arnold. I wonder did their fans sit there complaining they didn't have the exact type of players we had? Maybe there's more than one way to build a title winning side?

19 Jul 2020 19:06:10
So basically everyone but the most dominant champions ever are on the up yeah? 🤣.

19 Jul 2020 19:17:15
Lol clearly not watching the de gea "best keeper in the world" masterclass right now.

19 Jul 2020 19:22:11
In fairness RedScarface, he was, about 4 years ago 🤣 Now the best keeper in the world dons the Red of Liverpool.

19 Jul 2020 19:23:12
Scarface the best part is they normally use Romero for the cup games, but Solksjaer obviously thought: "Gee, semi final day, better use my first choice goalie to increase our chances. "

They'd probably be level if they'd left Romero in.

19 Jul 2020 19:34:23
What happened De Gea? He has been well below average for a number of years now. I remember there was a time the guy was like superman saving everything that came his way, now he can’t even do the basics.

19 Jul 2020 19:38:09
He never cocks up against us though.

19 Jul 2020 19:53:33
Based on what United paid for Maguire, I think we can reasonably expect £100m for Lovren.

19 Jul 2020 21:07:31
OP, give it up, man. This is getting tedious and boring, atm. The constant whinging and bigging up of rival players whose teams are nowhere near us is doing my head in.

Instead of being satisfied with what this team has achieved against all the odds stacked against them, we keep going on and on about how great players who btw, don't play for us are better than those who actually play for us and have helped accomplish this feat for our clubs.

You say we need a Bruno Fernandez type player or a CB to partner VVD (clearly Matip and Gomez with CL and PL winners' medals are now crap) or this, that or the other. You do know that LFC can do all that you have said and still not win the title next season, right? Like I said, enjoy our moment in the sun and have a good summer. Leave the footy matters to those who know what they are doing.

Fernandes looks good because he's playing in an absolute flake of a midfield. With the players in front of him he should be creating. He's decent but Hendo is twice the player.

De gea wants to leave, he has done for ages. He was convinced to stay and hasn't been the same player since. That's what it looks like to me.

Liverpool form has dropped "since we won the title" don't be so quick to write us off. I can guarantee you that none of the teams in the prem will have, I find it odd that the fans have. I do think it'll be difficult to keep the levels up for another season but I expect us to. The boys will want to defend their title. Can you easily bet against a determined Liverpool under klopp, Hendo and vvd? There form has dropped since the determination is no longer needed

We may not have reached 100 points, but evdn if we get no more points this season, ours is already brilliant. Amazing team. Needs absolutely nothing. Anything we add will be a luxury. Your watching these other teams thinking how great their players are and they've won diddly squat. Our boys won the cl last year and the pl this year. We are the luckiest fans in the wofld. We also won the cwc. Perspective lads.

{Ed0666's Note - great post Robbie

And this stating what our team lacks and pointing at utd players is insulting. Telling klopp what his team lacks is insulting. Im not evdn bothering to scroll down the pages anymore. Sorry to all the class posters but I can't get my head around it.

20 Jul 2020 07:59:58
Bruno Fernandes might be in a "flake" of a midfield but he has still scored 9 goals in 18 matches. He is a very good player for United.

20 Jul 2020 07:30:44
Two brilliant posts Robbie👍.

20 Jul 2020 08:30:57
Robbiesline - a very good post.
I don’t believe this team needs nothing, however. I still think we need another attacker that can perhaps help to break down low blocks - when Origi came on against Atletico in the first leg, I knew the game was finishing 1-0, for example.
I also think Diego Carlos (seemingly impossible) would be amazing for us. Gomez needs serious competition in order to carry on improving but only a few could provide it.

20 Jul 2020 08:38:24
Bruno is a very good player. He would be excellent under Klopp. Henderson might be great by one thing that separate the two is the amount of goals. Bruno scores plenty.

20 Jul 2020 09:29:10
I'm going to celebrate and toast the lads that have done it for the first time on 30 years before getting into all this. It's ridiculous.
Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys.

Robbie hit the nail on the head. People talk about us not getting the 100 points mark need to give their heads a wobble. As much as I wanted us to get over 100 points, I do not recall any LFC coach, player or fan saying at the start of the season, "Right lads, this season, we are going for the league and the 100 point mark" so people need toget over themselves as I have. And saying "LFC has dropped since we won the league". I mean, what does that even mean?

Now regarding Bruno, Robbie is right that he is doing great in a historically poor midfield. IMO, His output at Utd tho very good, is a case of him being a one-eyed king in the land of the blind cos frankly before he came, that midfield was dreadful.

And vs Chelsea, we have seen how poor that midfield can be when he is not on his game cos their midfield could not cope with the energy and movement of Kovacic and Mount and with the defensive flake that Pogba is out of possession, they are a disaster as their midfield hinges on Bruno's ability.

Bruno is a very good midfielder and suits the way Utd want to play BUT it seems many simply cannot grasp the fundamental fact that LFC's midfield is a lot more homogenous than that of Utd cos our midfield does not hinge on just one player but on the collective output of all 3 of them.

Red Meister

You have a point though you forget Klopp has switched our style of play countless times in the past 5 years. You never know what he adopts for the next season.
If we had signed Bruno Klopp might have used a different set up of play.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, I don't know. I'm not bothered about the 100 point thing at all, who gives a damn about it? It seems many people do which makes me ask, why? It's completely irrelevant and will be forgotten in no time. We won the league because we were the best all season, if that isn't enough for some then nothing will be. I've seen many Liverpool fans online moaning like hell about it, I don't get that, it baffles me.

I want Liverpool to win as much as the next fella but if we lose against Chelsea for an example, am I bothered? Not really, why? Because we've already done the job, we clearly have the best team in the world right now, people should really see the bigger picture. Will it be more difficult next season? I don't care what anybody says, no it will not, we are the best and will prove it once again next year. Teams will always strengthen but it takes a lot to be as good as this Liverpool team, we are still underestimated, there's still plenty of proving people wrong to be done and it's coming. Believe.

As for the snowflakes who thinks that's arrogant of me to say, so be it, deal with it. We have a right to be confident, we're the best in the world.

Very well said robbie mate.

HH, Klopp would not sign Bruno simply for the fact that he wants to be the main man in any team he plays in whether at Sporting or at Utd. Why? It is for this very reason that Klopp eventually let Coutinho go. During lockdown, Klopp said in an interview that when he arrived, he found that Coutinho was the best player in our squad hence, everything went thru him.

Klopp then found out that we were too reliant on him and teams would focus more on him and stop him from functioning and that was the best way to beat us. See the Spurs debacle at Wembley where we lost 4-1 cos that was the example Klopp gave.

After selling Cou, Klopp then rebuilt our midfield with Ox as the driving force in that season before he got injured and the season after, he evolved the system even more. Klopp's system in midfield does not rely on just one man hence, the reason why Bruno would not have been signed by LFC under Klopp.

20 Jul 2020 14:12:55
You seems to know so much about Klopp and what he would do tomorrow Red Meister. Where exactly did you read Bruno wanted to be a main man lol? I mean c'mon yes he doesn’t play for us and that doesn’t mean all are rubbish!

20 Jul 2020 18:07:54
HH or Harry, you need to go and read what I just posted and this time, with your eyes open and you will find that nowhere in my post did I say Bruno was rubbish. Also, Bruno wants to be the main man and have everything passing thru him cos that is the way he was at Sporting and now at Utd, just like Coutinho was with us when Klopp arrived.

As for what Klopp would want or not want, I am actually interested in what Klopp thinks we need or don't need hence, I watch his interviews online and on youtube. I may not know what Klopp wants BUT I know how he thinks cos he is an open book.

Now you would know as much as I know about Klopp if you did not spend majority of your time drooling over other players and managers and clubs, fawning all over them and saying we should sign them at LFC or using their success to trash our players, manager and club. But to each, his own priorities, I guess.
