Not Liverpool related but why have Watford sacked Pearson?
Makes no sense, he's done a decent enough job in difficult circumstances?

They have some decent players to finish a lot higher than where they are today! They could lose the next two and get related.

Watford go through managers quite frequently, no real surprise he's gone, just quite odd timing unless they have a quick fix in place already. What's more baffling is the Huddersfield manager getting sacked as soon as he secured safety, that was pretty brutal.

I'm not his biggest fan, but to sack him with two games remaining after he dragged them from almost relegation certs to above the relegation zone with a decent chance of staying up? That's pretty brutal.

I hear he had a bust up with the owners after the west ham match.

“but to sack him with two games remaining after he dragged them from almost relegation certs to above the relegation zone“

Wrong. They had a brilliant first half of the season and fell apart in the second! He dragged them to a relegation fight which they shouldn’t have.

{Ed001's Note - that's not true, he took them over because they were in a relegation battle. They were bottom of the table most of the first half of the season! He took over before their match against us and they were bottom. They beat us and Man Utd to climb off the bottom and haven't been back since.}

Harry is back with his boundless knowledge guys 🤣

Watford spent most of the season routed to the bottom of the table hence they sacked Gracia after less than 10 games and then sacked Sanchez Flores after around 10 games also.

Pearson did a sterling job to drag them out of that fight and I think had it not been for a 4 month break due to C.V., they’d of continued their good form and been well out of this scrap.

@Hollywood Hogan (or is it Harry? ) :

Watford appointed Nigel Pearson on December 6th. Watford were BOTTOM of the table when they appointed him. They had won ONE league game, drawn five and lost NINE. They were SEVEN points behind Southampton in 17th. They lost 8-0 to Man City. Their only league win was against Norwich. They were out of the League Cup, losing to Everton in the last 16s.

But yes, they were having a stellar season which Pearson sabotaged, right?

20 Jul 2020 12:24:35
Harry based on your post (and the upteenth username) about Watford having a brilliant first half of the season, I can sufficiently say without question, that you don't actually watch PL games hence, your post comes from a position of complete ignorance.

Oh n btw, Watford will be at their 4th manager should one be hired to manage the next two games. You're welcome.

20 Jul 2020 12:25:30
By that logic Steve Bruce should get the manager of the year award! Isn't it shaq?

20 Jul 2020 12:40:39
Is Hollywood Hogan serious?! Did you not see them under Gracia and Flores?

20 Jul 2020 13:00:29
I would now hope the Cherries stay up and Solanke suddenly finds form and bangs in a hat-trick against Everton and West Ham beat Watford 2-0 with the last goal coming in stoppage time from the penalty spot to spark Troy Deeney rumors to LFC, sorry Ed's back on the wacky backy!

20 Jul 2020 13:06:21
Bledd85, of course he didn't see Watford under Garcia and Flores. Harry was too busy watching Naby Keita play left wing back for LFC with Robbo switching into midfield.

20 Jul 2020 14:14:51
Okay okay! Relax guys. Don’t need to make a meal out of it. Watford should be higher up the table and not involve in a relegation battle. And that must be the reason to sack the manager. It’s not a new thing in football.

20 Jul 2020 14:29:24
Pearson is generally a bit of an arse and as cut throat as the watford owners have been in the past, i’d probably be inclined to believe they had a good reason to sack him based on his character, especially being 2 games from the end.

20 Jul 2020 17:15:13
Had a bust up with Gino Pozzo. They did not agree with his tactics. Did well to turn things around for them. Nobody in their position at the time Pearson took over stayed up.

21 Jul 2020 02:28:03
Very odd time to sack him. I thought he did a good job there. And yes, they were rock bottom when he took over and everyone had em as dead certs to go down. Now they have a fighting chance of staying up. That's a good job right?
