I wish him well and thank him for 6 years of loyal service. All the best in St. Petersburg. 👍.

I'm also happy he left, he wasn't good enough for this club but he was a damn right good person for it. The amount of stick he got, he's better off out of it, almost the same as Lallana, he was to be quiet frank sh*te in my opinion but suddenly when he leaves people tend to love him. A little strange if you ask me. Leave the club and you was a good servant, stay here and you aren't heard of, I wish them both the very best. They have been at the club a long time now so deserve everyone's respect, it's just a damn shame they got it too late (when they're leaving) .

Good luck Degzy 🔴.

I guess some people didn’t hear a word of what Klopp said about them both? To have a winning team you need a squad prepared to buy into the system the manager and his team want to employ. Both Lallana and Lovren did that and the team was better for their example. A little graciousness wouldn’t go amiss even if they weren’t your favourite players. They both did a good job when called upon and what more can you ask? Good luck to them both with their new projects and careers.

Some arseholes "support" this club reading some of the comments.

I wish Lovren the very best for the back end of his career. It was probably the right time to leave the club. He played a massive contribution as a squad player. I do think people will remember him for his occasional rushes of blood to the head rather than 90% of his time where he played a decent game for Liverpool.

I do think Lovren would have been remembered more fondly had he spent more time playing alongside Van Dyke which if memory serves me well he didn’t.

I also don’t think we should underestimate the importance of Dejan in his role of being Salah’s best buddy. Jokes aside it helped Salah fit in so quickly to the squad which was reflects with his leap to world class level.

Agreed, Lovren was here long enough, played plenty of games and had his moments. He deserves respect, all you can do is try you hardest.

Salah, my friend, I think you are being a bit harsh with the posters on here. When Lovren came in 2014, he was playing with the likes of Agger, Skrtel, Toure and Sakho; he looked the business. What was better than a CB who could play on both the left and right? But we were a mid-table team aspiring to reach the top 4 or top 6. Our standards were clearly lower than they are today. The story has changed drastically in that Matip, Gomez and VVD came in, and the whole team's standard went upwards a few notches. Lovren's errors became more noticeable and even game defining sometimes. And I sometimes mocked him for it. But that doesn't mean there is no appreciation for his overall service and effort for the club. It's said he stayed an extra year because Klopp asked for it. Can you imagine Suarez and Coutinho doing that for the club? It's like Klopp said in his very first interview as manager. "It doesn't matter how you're seen when you come in, it matters only how you're seen when you leave". For me he was still one for the good guys.

YNWA Dejan. Not our greatest defender but he had the heart and passion that is befitting of any true red and for that he should be respected. Never said a bad word about the club or managers. Never put the club in a bad light through actions on or off the pitch.

Lovren has had a few poor games for us. But he's also played some absolute blinders. He's too good to sit on the bench and everybody (who's involved with the club) knows it, so I'm glad he left for that reason. He's a great bloke by all accounts and a fine cb. Lovely passer of the ball. Good luck dejan my man. Sad to see you go mate.

Great point aray. Klopp asked him to stay a year and he did. Couts or suarez would not have done that. Tbf to pc, he did stay for half a season and rumour was if we had a shot at the title he would've stayed. But still, a great point. Not every cb is vvd.

Johncrow, if we have to rely on van den Berg as our 4th choice centre back, next season, we will be struggling. I appreciate he's only a kid but from what I've seen he's light years from the first team. He also seems to have an alarming lack of pace, which is something he's not going to acquire.
Hope I'm completely wrong and he turns out to be the next Alan Hansen.

Spot on Robbie. Lovren had some shocking games and errors BUT his ability to bounce back from seemingly impossible odds to have some absolute blinders and MOTM performances, is only testament to his mental makeup and mindset.

For me, Lovs is a true warrior. Never hides in games and is always ready to stand up and be counted. One of the bravest players I have ever watched play for the LFC country due to his unbreakable will to win and be the best. So long, Brother Dejan! Till we meet again.
