Controversial questions for you guys, on the back of coutinho. Putting aside how he left, would any one take back sterling. I don't think for one second we would buy him, however, do you think he would fit in the team.
Not 100% myself. Part of me still looks at him with red tinted glasses and hates him, however given his age and what he is achieving I can't help but think that he would be a great replacement for when salah/ mane leave.

He’s not better than Mané or Salah.

28 Jul 2020 23:25:29
It’s a shame that he left and the circumstances and image that were put on him from the Liverpool perspective.
But it’s worked out for both parties and that’s the best outcome really.
Super player and has developed into a cool guy too it seems.

28 Jul 2020 23:53:19
Very good player, I’m sure he would slot in quite easily.

28 Jul 2020 23:58:42
Agree he's doing very well, based on goals scored. Anyone know how many of those goals have been tap ins? Basically finishing off a good team move.

29 Jul 2020 00:05:40
Sterling would be unreal in our team now. he's also a better finisher since leaving us.

29 Jul 2020 00:17:03
He'd be brilliant across our front 3 to be honest. Never want him near the red shirt though. He doesn't deserve it.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not sure having sterling in the squad now would be such a bad thing.

28 Jul 2020 23:55:50
Yes definitely. He may have left in difficult circumstances but there is no doubt he’s been outstanding in the main. I know he has off patches but he would challenge Mane and Salah. Also except for standing up for one of his team mates I have been very impressed with his views on racism and how humble and knowledgeable he has been on the abuse that some players have received.

29 Jul 2020 01:26:35
Doesn’t get in the team ahead of Mane or Salah in my opinion, but he wouldn’t be that far behind.

29 Jul 2020 03:51:58
Id drive him to melwood if he says he wants to come back and might put in 10 grand myself to fund that transfer. 😀
He is an ideal player for us.

{Ed0666's Note - if you have a spare 10k Akshit can you put it towards Havertz in fact why don’t we all on this site chip in and let’s buy Havertz and present him to Klopp at Melwood in two weeks. How would you like them apples Mr Lampard?

29 Jul 2020 07:27:29
Sterling has improved a tonne since he went there BUT his finishing is still dodgy compared to the plethora of chances that he is offered, IMO. Now if I had to pick btw him and Coutinho, I’d definitely pick Sterling cos he is a much better player now than Coutinho who has regressed massively over the past 2 years.

29 Jul 2020 08:14:18
BUT his finishing is still dodgy compared to the plethora of chances that he is offered, you could say exactly the same for Firmino and to some extent Salah as well.

29 Jul 2020 09:40:30
Salah's finishing is equally dodgy to be honest.

29 Jul 2020 10:35:36
I don't dislike sterling, I admire him more than anything, how he is as a person is more important to me, I hold nothing against the lad and wish him the best. He has done nothing but improve as the years have gone on.

Would he fit in here? Absolutely but not whilst Mane and Salah are here. He'll be at city for quiet a few more years I think.

29 Jul 2020 10:43:12
Mark08, please stay on topic. We are talking about Sterling and not Bobbie. Also IMO, your comparison is as usual, false. Can Sterling do the things Bobbie can do in our system aside from just scoring goals? The answer is No so there goes your false argument.

RR, you are correct that Salah has dodged finishing but overall IMO, the superior player to Sterling cos Salah can drop deep and link up, can play the CF position and hold the ball up effectively and is not just a better goal scorer, he is a better creator than Sterling as his assists numbers show. Cheers, guys.

100%. I’d take him back. Why wouldn’t you! He absolutely quality.

29 Jul 2020 11:45:16
Gotta agree with the Havertz comment. Im sick we don’t have the funds to buy him, would be an excellent addition to the squad and in my opinion exactly what we and Klopp wants.

29 Jul 2020 13:36:28
I’ve just contributed to the post about our front three being more clinical. I’m not convinced Sterling has the ability to get there. He was very uncomposed at Liverpool. At City he has improved but not to the point where you have no idea if he will airshot or score a worldy. His starting point (composure) is too far behind what we would need

For that reason I’m out!

29 Jul 2020 14:56:49
Has a team ever put a transfer donation pot together. If 1m fans put £100 in we could be in business this summer!

{Ed001's Note - it has happened a few times in the lower leagues.}

29 Jul 2020 20:42:46
You'll all have a go but I think coutinio on top form blows an inform sterling out of the water. He was our wizard. Not saying I want him back. Buf I'd take him over sterling. More versatile.
