ed001 do you expect gini wijnaldum to sign a new contract it seems have been going on for a long time. It looks like he might be after a free transfer move next year to me, there is nothing the club can do now even if they tried to sell if his got his mind set on a free transfer he will just turn any move down.

{Ed001's Note - no, I don't think he is going to sign or he already would have done so.}

Agree0 Disagree0

free transfer next summer then ed. I hope he still gives 100% next season if he is still here. when a player is running his contract down they all ways have injuring them self's on there mind a bad injury and they have nowhere to go.

I can't believe it. He's been an integral part of Liverpool's success. He's loved by the fans and he seems popular with his team mates. Liverpool have finally got to where we want to be and he wants out? I can't get my head around it?

I can only imagine he has a destination in mind. Maybe it says a lot about keita's form. Perhaps gini doesn't see a future with us. Hendo is captain, fab is holding and keita and ox are more direct. But he is the type of cm you need. Selfless, solid, skillful. I'll be genuinely gutted if he leaves.

The only other thing I can think of, is he is an AM traditionally. Klopp changed him to a proper cm. But he wants to go somewhere where he is used as an AM?

If I had to choose between integrating a 29 Yr old into our team or keeping gini. It's wjinaldum all day for me. We will never forget his Barcelona brace. It was incredible, and he's a Liverpool hero. I haven't been as gutted since Gerrard left. It's not on the same level. More gutted than couts leaving.

Please sign a deal gini. We absolutely love you man. That cl campaign; Hendo gini and milly. It was awesome. If you're an opposition midfielder, you know you are in for a fight you're almost definitely going to lose with those 3.

Or maybe he just fancies a move home or to another league. he's done 4 years at the club and has been a great professional. If he sees out his contract and moves on then the very best of luck to him.

Robbie if he was going to sign the deal he was offered last year, he would have signed it already. IMO, he ain't signing it and could be off this summer if he doesn't which could explain why we are in for Thiago.

Am I peeved that he could leave? Absolutely cos I think he is a brilliant football with a footballing IQ off the charts, IMO but this is a business and if he leaves, he will have my blessing and I would wish him all the best cos he has truly killed at LFC, IMO.

Yeah, I echo you RM and Irish. I will be thankful, but also gutted.

I hope from a business perspective they try come to some sort of agreement he doesn’t leave for free. 30mill plus they should surely consider it if he isn’t going to sign.

I can't think for one second that he would consider moving back home at what is a relatively young age.
If he doesn't sign that will be very disappointing. Hate when good players walk out the door with no fee attached. It's not like we're loaded but what can you do? Why would you want to leave anyway is beyond me.

Look if he goes he goes once he's replaced adequately Ed001.

Seems strange not to want to stay, think he’s got the third most appearances last season, and I’m not sure real and Barcelona will come calling - although they did sign Paulinho.

Where else is he going to go and have as much chance as winning silverware and starting as much.

If it were me, I’d go for another 2/ 3 years then move.

Ed001 do you have a clue as to why he won't sign. He is first choice at a top club unless he wants to go to another league and experience something else.

{Ed001's Note - it is a personal decision.}

I wonder what kind of club he'd have his eye on if leaving. Presumably he'd want to leave the Premier league. Could see him doing well in Spain or Italy. Still strikes me as strange when he's first choice with us though.

I'm pretty sure he is the most used midfielder under Klopp so that picture paints a thousand words on what Klopp thinks of him and how reliable he is. I personally rate him a lot but he is one of those players who is like marmite and it might be a case of we don't know what we've lost until he's gone.

I think it’s more likely we haven’t offered him either the money or length of contract that he wants.
