Ed 002.I understand your argument that LFC owners have huge financial issues but I can't understand how Man United which is supposedly heavily indebted can agree a record fee for Sandro. That's absurd in the current economic climate and with huge uncertainty because of C.V..

{Ed002's Note - They are using money they have earned, simply not paying debt down with it as planned. So I don't see the problem. Liverpool's issue is that the business is run reliant upon predictions of what will be earned in the season.}

Agree0 Disagree0

120 mill for Sandro does seem steep. However sancho is a pretty good player.

I can’t help but feel very frustrated. And it’s not because of the lack of money or I’m unhappy with the team.
The only worry I have is if Jurgan Klopp is identifying these players like Werner and Thiago as targets He actually Wants. The owners not being able to bring them in is very worrying, it’s not like they’re unrealistic targets.

Remember Salah wasn’t Klopps first choice and he turned out ok. The teams in good shape bar getting a couple of major injuries but that’d effect any team even City. They’d prob been closer if it wasn’t for Laporte and Debruyne getting injured.

First of all LiverpoolFC8, it's not the owners, it's the club, there is a difference.
Secondly, Klopp has already spoke about how difficult this window will be, so why is he "identifying" these players as you say? My guess is that Klopp, the club and everyone else involved have a fair idea what is possible this window and the rest, us, the press etc are just guessing.

The teams in good shape but what happens after a few years when they're all in their 30s, we're struggling to buy 1 player who can compete with the first 11 never mind when we need 5 or 6 replacing at once. Where's the cash going to come from then.

Spot on, IR. LiverpoolFC8, you act as if you don't know what the situation with club's finances is as we speak. As if these are realistic targets BUT it is the owners (who by the way don't run the club. They just own it) who are refusing to give Klopp money to sign players.

I can understand fans spouting such stuff on SM cos they are not as fortunate enuff as us on this forum are being fully briefed on this issue by the Ed's and heaven bless them. I expect such comments from them, not from someone on this forum who knows what the situation is yet posts the same stuff just to moan. Let Klopp and his team do their jobs and let things happen on their own.

I said ‘if’ Irish. And I know it’s the club, but financial fair play is finished. If and only if, Jurgan is wanting these players. They should be here. Keep that man happy!

{Ed002's Note - Why is FFP finished?}

Not understanding why Man U have paid that amount for Sancho if true as there was no competition for his signature.

05 Aug 2020 07:57:05
There was no competition at the price set, Acered.
I am sure if Dortmund was asking for less Real Madrid and Chelsea may have got involved.
We were never going to get involved, unless as Eds have said on numerous occasions, only if we were replacing Salah.
