Cant help feeling Sepp van den berg, ki jana hoever could do with a loan to possibly a championship side or at a push low end premier league too get used too the rough an tumble of english football on a weekly basis, see how they perform when real points on the line .

Agree3 Disagree0

07 Aug 2020 16:32:45
Yeah, why not. I'm dying to see what vdb can do.

07 Aug 2020 16:59:32
I don't think they have played enough games to be honest I am excited too see the potential of both, ki jana hoever has said he is mainly a right back that can play centre back so I would imagine he is behind trent, neco Williams so mostly he would be playing u23s an domestic cup games, van den berg could be ready as 4th choice but I would like a better look at wat he can do .

07 Aug 2020 18:33:14
They are both barely 18. Unless you’re Maldini/ Cannavaro type level, you won’t be anywhere near a squad competing at the top like ours. No rush for me.

07 Aug 2020 18:37:48
Not sure about everyone else but I was much more impressed by what I saw from ki Jana than svb, obviously both have big potential but I think ki Jana could even be integrated into the main team for next season as long as we were to get another first choice CB like Carlos.

07 Aug 2020 18:46:09
@hailstones. I thought the same too about Ki Jana. But I was wrong. He's primarily a centre half but feels perfectly comfortable at right back too.

I have to be honest, I've never been impressed with Van Den Berg. Hopefully it's just a mix of my awful talent spotting skills and him having the ability to improve.

07 Aug 2020 18:49:15
Spot on, Shaq Attack. Be very careful with loans cos they are 50/ 50 at best and we have to be careful about just send youngsters esp. those who are barely 18 like VDB and KJH on loans.

We have to be very careful what type of loans we set up for them cos we all know how a bad loan can hurt a player's progression. Just ask Divock Origi.

07 Aug 2020 19:03:53
Epic, VDB was already playing first team footie in Holland at 17 and Bayern were also in for him so clearly the kid can play. The issue is that can he step up to a much higher standard in the PL esp. on the physical level and that is why he needs time to adapt. I mean, the kid is barely 18.

As for Hoever, I have only seen him play twice with the first team so even he too, will need time to make the step up. I have never believed that a player is/ will be good enuff just cos I want him to be. He will have to show me he can do it over time and sorry, neither have done so at this time. With time, we'll see.

07 Aug 2020 19:15:27
Divock is a legend at liverpool but his main problem is he has all the skills pace strength but he doesn't have the mentality on a week to week basis to deliver the goods like say an aubameyang, vardy or salah an mane, we have all wished he developed a ruthless streak but hasn't happened.

07 Aug 2020 21:13:58
@RedMeister. Of course it will take time for him. I'm only expressing my early observations. Sepp to me, looks behind Hoever. When Hoever has stepped in, he looked accomplished, but when Sepp came in for the league cup games, he looked very shaky.

Obviously I hope he can become a great defender. I just don't see it yet and think the Ki Jana is ahead of him at the moment.

07 Aug 2020 21:38:17
I agree epic that of what little we've seen in Cup games and pre season that hoever has impressed more than sep. But it's pretty well documented that hoever is a highly confident kid. I remember him coming on in a European game due to? Think it was lovren injury, and the lad did well. Sep may take a little longer to feel comfortable in the first team, but as RM said, the lad was playing 1st team at a very young age in Holland, I think he may have been 15 when he made his debut, but don't quote me on that. Even if its 16, it still takes quite a special player to have the physical and mental attributes to not only get through the games but to attract the attention of European royalty like Liverpool and bayern (among others) he's still growing and he's going to be a beast. I wish they would televise u23 games coz I'm really curious to see the young starlets play.

Ya know what hailstones, and i hate to say it, but I don't think it's mentality, origi just isn't as good a footballer as aubangyang. No shame in that, auba is out of the very top draw.
And to be fair to div, we don't really know about a week in week out basis as we never see him start two games on a row, let alone week in, week out. I do take your point though.

I think origi was better suited to our counter attacking style 2/ 3 years ago. But, when we need a goal and klopp brings him on, I always feel "he's definitely got a chance" and he does usually get at least one chance and quite often he buries one. Not every team has a back up striker who has a genuine knack of scoring big goals.

I reckon he's going to be off this summer. The blond hair, it's quite often a way of putting themselves in the shop window. And he must be thinking "I scored 2 against the mighty Barcelona in the cl and then scored in the final to win the European Cup, and I'm still not starting many league games. What more can I do? "

I'll be disappointed if he goes, but a small part of me will be pleased for origi. He is good enough to start for 90/ 95% of professional teams. Selfishly I'd like to keep him, but I'd also like to see brewster starting games and coming on in big games. These are nice problems to have though. Too much talent for the few positions and not too many positions for the small amount of talent.

07 Aug 2020 23:19:31
Robbiesline, if a good offer comes in for origi it would be nice too bring in sarr or leon bailey and bring brewster back then we killing 2 birds in one width/ pace in sarr/ bailey and a young hungry striker in brewster and the squad needs too get stronger our rivals are looking too steal a march so I hope we are on guard.

08 Aug 2020 01:05:39
I don't know how to say this. Two 18 year olds loaned to lower tier PL club. I doubt this would happen or I doubt they would play that much. Im sure these clubs would prefer for more established players than gambling on two young unproven players. There are so many things at stake for them, especially not to be relegated. Hence the most possible clubs for these group of players usually are at lower tier clubs.

08 Aug 2020 02:08:45
Sarr is probably the better wide player than origi, but km not convinced he is the better player. If he is I don't think there is that much in it. Dunno, could be wrong. Thing with our front 3, you have to be at the very highest of high levels to displace any of them for more than one match, so would we be going to a lot of trouble, just to have Sarr in the same boat origi is in now? If we are going to bring in a striker, I feel it should be a Firmino type player (not many of them about of course) and mino fits that mould. Where do taki's chances come from? His signing may be a factor in origi looking to move (not sure that he is)

Origi hasn't set the league on fire but his figures for a sub are pretty good. Maybe it's time to try someone new. It's so difficult. I'd like brewster yo get a shot. But, if he was our back up striker and Bobby got a nasty injury, could Rhian handle the pressure of leading the line away at napoli or City? I'll be honest, if we kept the forward players as they are right now, going into next season I'd be cool with that. Cb and lb are priorities.

08 Aug 2020 05:23:08
Can’t help feeling this is not a very good idea.

08 Aug 2020 06:12:48
Hoever will be used as a sweeper.

08 Aug 2020 07:58:07
What does Origi have left to achieve at Liverpool? And I ask that in the nicest possible way. He’s won the premier league and the CL with us and the next thing for him would be to displace the front 3 which is never going to happen. Even if we sold one then Klopp would automatically look at buying a replacement. Origi has been at the club now for 6 seasons. He’s had 2 season long loans away from the club and then spent 4 seasons being in and out of the side. Mostly out this last season and is actually the most used sub in the clubs history. When we bought him in 14 he was competing to be Belgium’s first choice striker at the time and 6 years later he’s on 28 caps. If he stays then great as the CL winning season he produced some great memories that will always live with us but surely he must be now thinking he needs to be playing football week in week out. After all in my opinion he’s achieved everything he possibly could with us.

08 Aug 2020 13:44:35
@JK23. He's achieved everything he can possibly win with us? What about another league title? Another European medal? Players don't just want to win one of everything then are done with it.

If he goes to Villa, he won't win anything. If he starts almost every game, at least he's got a "shot" at the golden boot, but very unlikely. Will they win one of the cups? Also very unlikely. If he's in it for the medals (which is what the whole thing is about when you take money out of the equation) then he should only leave for a top foreign team to try and win another title abroad. If not, he's best staying where he is.

08 Aug 2020 13:59:15
Epic which top European club are in for him? I think all players will have different ambitions depending on their abilities. No doubts the starting 11 and squad will be wanting to win lots more trophies and titles. The squad players will be ambitious about breaking into the starting 11 more than they currently are. Mo, Sadie and VVD would be looking at the Ballon D’or. VVD would probably have ambitions of winning a World Cup or European cup with his country etc. What I said originally wasn’t a dig at Origi just merely a suggestion. Players have different ambitions and they also have different motivations. Like you said some play for trophies some play for money but the one you missed was some players love playing the actual game of football. For me Origi has earnt his monet and now has a number of medals in his cabinet. Maybe actually playing week in week out might be his next motivation. Only he will know though mate.

08 Aug 2020 17:33:04
I know exactly what you mean Jk23. Origi is a decent player and I love him for his cl goals and Everton goals. But hand on heart, is he ever going to lead the line for Liverpool full term? Sadly the answer is no. So if we can cash in on him, and he can go to a decent team and get lots of starts, fair play to him. There are no higher achievements in club football than the four he has picked up with Liverpool this last two years. If he left Liverpool this summer he wouldn't have the feeling of not achieving. There are no higher accolades, I think that's what Jk23 meant. And he's right.

09 Aug 2020 11:26:10
Why are we comparing Origi to a much better, more experienced and more talented Aubameyang, exactly?

09 Aug 2020 18:45:18
Neither are ready to play every week in the Prem, if both could sort a loan to the championship with an agreement on playing time that would be best for them. We've good young CB's coming behind dem from the 18's who need to make the step up to the reserves.
