I thought it was only mad dogs and Englishmen that went out in the midday sun. First Norwich are saying we disrespected them by bidding £10-12m for their LB. Surely that is negotiating? Start low etc. Not sure what their problem is tbh unless it is just lazy journalism.

Then I read £40m for Sarr!?! In what galaxy? I may be being harsh, and I know Watford paid a club record (reported £30m) for him but, apart from the now infamous game with us, he has scored 3 goals in 27 games and his team got relegated. I would bid a "disrespectful" £10-12m and start negotiations from there. He has gone from a 1 goal in 5 player at Rennes to 1 goal in 9 player. So should be devaluing not increasing in value. I will have some of whatever the Watford board are smoking, because they're hitting the hard stuff!

I would love a CB from within the ranks (Hoever preferably because he is a baller) to be given a chance pre-season alongside VVD and a reasonable strength midfield in front of them not two rookie CBs together and a hotch-potch midfield like we normally do pre-season.

Finally, do the Ed's have any info on this young Brazilian we are being linked with? Talles Magno, I think his name is. Is it just agent talk? Is he any good? I just feel we are being used to drive up interest in all players' transfers at the moment and/ or players want to genuinely come and play for us. A barometer of our standing in world football at present. Great times.

I was a little confused by Norwich stance on the whole Jamal Lewis situation as well. It seems clubs take extra offence when it’s Liverpool they’re dealing with, or we’re just very good at annoying clubs we’re in negotiations with. Jamal Lewis is at this stage, an inferior player to Kostas so we valued him less, they wanted £20m for Jamal and probably wanted another one of our assets (Larouci) if they were to accept a bit less and one deal made a hell of a lot more sense. They claim they don’t need to sell so they shouldn’t be upset.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not sure Norwich we’re upset we didn’t buy Lewis? They set a price we didn’t want to pay it so walked away I’m not sure there’s any recrimination on either side?

Basically StEtinne. Ed has said lfc have watched him. But to make a move they’d need to sell first as it won’t be a cheap deal. I can’t see Salah or mane moving so maybe sell a few to afford the deal so seems unlikely in my opinion.

{Ed0666's Note - With Lalana now gone and maybe Shaq leaving we will save a gargantuan amount of money we were paying our physios in overtime pay and we have more than enough money to buy Magno. Heck with all that money we could buy Magno and Aour.

Well apparently reports are coming out that Norwich feel disrespected by us. This exact situation has played out a million times in football.

Its probably Suarez memories coming back with norwich😀😀.

How else do you talk, and save face, if you are facing à disgruntled employee who didn't get the transfer to the team he wanted, and other prospective buyers who will be bluffed into thinking the Norwich prices are firm?

Thanks Ed002, I should have checked first. Searching Magno did serve up a gem from 2017. Romagnoli as an alternative to missing out on Van Dijk! Scary thought having no Virg but a good shout as an alternative.

Stop it, Ed0666. You're killing me.

{Ed0666's Note - from what I hear on the Liverpool FC grapevine is that Shaq has to take the physio with him to the toilet in case he pulls his groin 😂

🤣🤣🤣 Ed0666. So you're aware of the cameras installed in the LFC bathrooms.

{Ed0666's Note - Oh damn if I knew there was cameras I would never have.....
