Sorry Ed 002 why do you say Liverpool would regret not buying Stevanovic when you've said time and time again that there's no money to buy players unless they sell. Not being disrespectful but if there's no money the priority has to be players in those positions who could play next season.

Would've been a weird signing for us unless Elliott or Jones are leaving. Jones's best position currently is left of a front 3 or off the striker. Elliott's best position is right of a front 3 or off the striker.

With no gap in the squad or even clear path into it, Stevanovic would've just ended up farmed out on loan after loan until somebody presented an opportunity to make a profit or break even. Grujic, Markovic, Teixeira, Ilori, Ojo etc. I could go on but you get the jist.

We've just signed a young Polish winger as well who is a similar age. It would've been a real dumb signing to either bolster our u21 team until he becomes disruptive, or have yet another perpetual loanee with no chance of an LFC career.

I don’t understand what Manchester United buying a player has to do with Liverpool. Every other club in the world has also missed out on this player, we can’t buy all of the players.

I don't get why people feel the need to try and get one over on ED002 or question his intentions? He recommended him as a good one for the future that Liverpool have had an eye on for a while and believes Utd have signed themselves a good player at a decent price. That's it nothing more, some honestly don't realise the quality of information we get given on this site.

Guess Klopp will just have to make do with the meagre 19 attacking options on the books (in a subjective ranking order) ; Salah, Firmino, Mane, Origi, Chamberlain, Minamino, Jones, Elliott, Shaqiri, Glatzel, Hill, Hardy, Longstaff and Musialowski. (Plus Brewster, Wilson, Ojo, Woodburn and Awoniyi on loan) .

Not sure how I will sleep tonight knowing we could've had a new 9th choice option to replace Shaqiri.

GBB86, nobody on this thread is trying to get one over on Ed002. His vast knowledge supersedes anything we posters can conjure up and everyone knows this or they wouldn't be here. However, people are allowed to have banter and disagree with Editors. Have you ever considered you are taking their notes too seriously? These are grown men running a site that is literally entitled "banter". It's not getting one over to have a bit of banter/ debate. The Editors aren't gods immune to getting things wrong, although Ed025 is older than Zeus according to rumour site folklore. I disagree with Ed002 that we'll regret missing Stevanovic. Read the posts again, there is banter and then there is being petulant. Banter is reciprocated fun between people, what has been written above is petty snipes at previous opinions expressed.

I take nothing seriously and love banter, discussions and disagreements with people it stimulates the mind and soul.

What really annoys me is the way people who give their time and knowledge for free are treated on here sometimes just to try and spark a reaction and it's mainly from my fellow Liverpool fans which is quite frankly disappointing.

Lighten up GBB, this is a kid we're talking about! And Ed002 isn't above a bit of winding up, at the end of the day it's a rumour site, I think people overestimate its importance a bit too much, where else could an editor on a site have a clubs fanbase who have the best manager in the world question that very manager. A bit more of a life is needed for some people.

I remember ed2 recommending Mitrovic as a striker we should have targeted from anderlecht, then weirdly he ended up Newcastle and now Fulham. win some, you lose some. maybe manU do well with seferovic maybe not. I really don't see the sense in getting bent out of shape over a kid no matter what his potential is. seems he would have more of a chance playing at ManU so perhaps a better move for his career than padding our academy.

I'm far more interested in Elliot's development. I hope he stays with the first team and develops right here at the club rather than on loan.
