Ed001 Wondering if you are going to do a season review for each team - inc how their transfer panned out?

{Ed001's Note - actually funny you should say that, we just did two podcasts on that, as I was intending to wait until the European competitions were over to see if anyone from the Prem won it. I think all the Prem teams are out now though, so I am going to start on it today.}

Agree0 Disagree0

City ARE bottlers! Lol. We are far more comfortable on the big stage. It's those six trophies knocking about. We even pop up and win it with a not even wc team.

Have city ever won it?

Next season we should turn our backs on them!
(i always thought that was supreme stupidity. You've finally got a team that can play and you turn your back on it. Idiots)

{Ed002's Note - This pathetic arrogance of Liverpool supporters is embarrassing. Manchester City did Liverpool a huge favour this season and then the club embarrassed themselves in showing so little respect to another club as to write to CAS and then were left red-faced and stupid by the reply. It is time to move on.}

Why is it embarrassing ed02? They should have won that cl. They bottled it. Again.

I'm a football fan, I only care about what goes on on the pitch really. I had nothing to do with that, neither did our players or their players. If we had gone out against lyon in place of city, would they be pleased about it on the city page, or would they be sending messages of support?

They're the ones who turn their backs on everyone, I was being ironic.

Ed02 mate. It's been thirty years, and we have won the league. Last year we made our 6th cl, that springboarded us into this season which saw us win the super Cup and the cwc, then the pl. If you can't be arrogant then, when can you be man?

{Ed002's Note - The posts have been truly embarrassing.}

I actually fancied them to win it Ed, and hoped they would for a while.

17 Aug 2020 16:03:13
I wanted to see City win. Its the only thing that could have improved our season. Either that, or Atletico winning it.

17 Aug 2020 16:05:39
Dont backtrack robbiesline, you are allowed an opinion on the subject mate. City did do us a massive favour and we spat in their face but people like Bernardo Silva have massively embarrassed the club and himself. Disrespectf, childish and pathetic. He also refused to clap of the gaurd of honour. Silly boy.

17 Aug 2020 16:26:11
Nobody has mentioned the off field issues between the 2 clubs on this post except you Ed.
All I can see is what a lot of football fans do to each other when they have a better season. Childish as it may be.

17 Aug 2020 16:55:34
Bbd, not backtracking. If you read the posts for a couple of days ago, I fancied city. But whdn i saw lyon 1 0 up, I really hoped they'd hold on.

I can't believe a team that can play like city, lost to lyon in the biggest game in their history. Got battered! That cl was theirs for the taking. I like lyon for it now. What a win.

Sorry to be ignorant. How did they help us?

17 Aug 2020 17:12:29
Robbiesline I think ed002 might be referencing Man City’s former scout poaching their scouting records on our behalf. Think we agreed to pay them compo or something rather than them going public. Could be wrong though.

{Ed002's Note - I am referring to them saying to the FA that they saw no need to follow up on the hacking of the Manchester City IT system by members of Liverpool staff that could have resulted not only in FA punishment but criminal proceedings. Liverpool paid them £1M from the slush fund for this.}

The phrase 'bottled it' really bothers me. It seems that every time a big club doesn't win a trophy they bottled it. To think that a manager and players who have won multiple trophies bottled it is stupid. The phrase bottled it is a modern one that has come about in the social media banter era. I don't recall anyone saying Liverpool bottled it when they lost to Wimbledon in 88, or when we lost 2-0 to Arsenal in the last game in 89. We love football because anything can happen in any game, its 11 men v 11 men and both teams can win the game.

17 Aug 2020 18:21:16
No, it's not true thunderbird. Liverpool HAVE bottled the league a few times this last 30 years. Its a trophy a team wants so much, everyone knows they want it. And they can't hold it together. Who's the best team? City or lyon? City are twice the team they are but, the nerves got the better of them. Hence bottled it.

17 Aug 2020 18:34:34
Sterling bottled it on that open goal though. If City are winning or playing against lowly opposition Sterling scores that. Bit of pressure - bottle gone, ballooned over the bar.

17 Aug 2020 19:12:39
Exactly flash.

17 Aug 2020 19:14:58
Us not beating Palace that time! Unbelievable. It was pressure. We showed city we were good enough for the title when we beat them with little pipco scoring a world ie. But couldn't keep it together.

This group we have now don't. I think they thrive on the pressure.

18 Aug 2020 00:26:53
Robbiesline. Even if we beat palace we would have lost the title on goal difference which is why we tried to score more goals that game. Nothing to do with bottle. Its funny how us fans misremember recent history to suit a narrative.

18 Aug 2020 16:31:17
We still lost the game and others on that run in. We couldn't hold it together.
