Hi everyone long time since I posted so here it goes. Under the current squad we have with no improvements I just think City will blow us away this season I don't understand what fsg are thinking money from champions league banked premier league money banked super cup money banked World Cup money banked never mind the moneys we received from the players moving on I really worrying I worry that we aren't pushing forward enough to defend the title but going back every team needs strength and depth that's why we never got off and running after lock down thanks all let's hope klopp knows what he's doing as my opinion we can't play without a crowd.

{Ed002's Note - You clearly don't understand the financial situation at all.}

Why would City be able to blow us away?
They haven’t improved their squad to the required level, yet. Guardiola has wasted £40m on Ake, has lost Silva and Sane, and whether or not Aguero ever fully gets over what is quite a serious injury at age 32 remains to be seen.
City have shown they can win a league without De Bruyne, but they are not competing with Liverpool without Aguero being fit for the whole season.

The season has not even started mate, we have added a left back as we were a little short in the area, I'm sure there will be another one or two, we have just smashed all the other teams out the park with ease. With it being a short pre-season our momentum will still be at it's max.

Oh and we have the best Manager, it we will be absolutely fine.

Get a grip bro!

Jesus Mighty, obviously long time since you read any posts or watched any news. We are in the middle of a C.V. and the club is struggling financially because of it, get a grip. Sorry but I'm bored of these ignorant posts.

Wow why so unhappy with FSG and klopp. Some people are never satisfied!

20 Aug 2020 12:15:54
Where is Walter? I wanted to congratulate him, it seems we have a new contender for the negativity crown that Walter vacated, LOL.

ed002 has explained on numerous times the current financial situation at the club. we as fans should trust his opinion on these matters as he clearly has a greater insight and knowledge than we as fans could ever hope to gain. I for one would just like to thank him for his insight. Regarding Klopp and the owners, they have delivered an unpresented period of success for the club and should have our support and gratitude for that. I understand we all want the club to push on to even more success but that doesn't mean we need to spend 100 million or more. We won the league comfortably and have a coaching setup that seem to improve most players we sign.

OP, it seems you are having a panic attack over absolutely nothing. "City will blow us away this season". Yikes! Well in that case, we should all pack it in and not even bother turning up this season, by your logic, yeah?

Here is a thought: Have a lie down, take a deep breathe and chill your mind and get excited about our title defence this season cos the way you sound, I fear for your blood pressure. Get a grip!

20 Aug 2020 12:52:24
City haven't improved at all. Torres and Ake are not even close to the level of player as Silva and Sane. If anything they are significantly weaker. Silva is maybe the best midfielder in the Premier League era and even now at 34 he was in the top 5 of the current crop.

I'm sure they will continue to spend but if their business so far is anything to go buy, they are panic buying to try and catch up.

{Ed002's Note - They are not panic buying.}

20 Aug 2020 13:06:55
This is not a serious post surely?
Blow us away
I need to understand why you think this
If anything they will be weaker no David Silva aguero clearly on his last legs
Jesus proving to be not good enough when called upon
Not sure why they would blow us away at all.

City are still a bit weak at the back, their keeper still makes horrific mistakes and they’re almost too reliant on KDB, if he doesn’t play we’ll, they don’t tend to play well. It’s all very well humping teams when their season is over, but when it has mattered this season they’ve been found wanting, we need to focus on ourselves and aim to be as consistent as possible. We’ve the best defence in the league, we’ve a solid middle and our attack scored for fun. Add to that we have one of the best two managers in club football, we should be ok.

20 Aug 2020 15:25:05
Yea just like they blew us away this season too LOL.

20 Aug 2020 16:16:49
Just in reply to one of the posters above. I actually didn’t realise Aguero’s injury was that serious. How long is he expected to be out for then anyone know?

20 Aug 2020 16:50:51
Last I heard today on Sky, Aguero should be fit for the start of the season.

20 Aug 2020 17:10:41
City are a dangerous team but still poor at the back imo. Ake is a ridiculous signing. He's awful! They just got smashed by lyon. I think it'll be tighter and we may not win it again, but I don't see any team blowing us away. We have massive depth in every area bar cb, but I noticed how much taller vbd is this year. Maybe he is the answer? We have class back up in every area bar lcb.

As long as we go in with Ali, virg, taa and Robbo, fab and Hendo, mane, Bobby and salah we are not getting blown away by anyone son. They're the ones who need to worry about getting blown away. Again.

20 Aug 2020 19:57:46
We shouldn’t underestimate City, yes they’ve lost Silva etc but they have a great young player in Phil Foden commmg through.

20 Aug 2020 20:48:28
City need a leader at CB as they haven’t been the same since Fernandinho left. They sort that out then we’re in a battle cause they are lethal going forward but weak at the back. Should be a closer battle next season so it’s good we’ve got the pressure of not winning the league for so long out the way. Bring it on.

{Ed047's Note - did you mean Kompany?

20 Aug 2020 21:03:12
Yeah, foden looks like the real deal drogie.

21 Aug 2020 01:40:08
whatever happens it is a new season and we will likely not have the passion of Anfield to kick start our campaign.

We are only at the infancy of our 'reign' as serial title challengers and we should be approaching the season with that chip on our shoulder to prove the doubters wrong again.

21 Aug 2020 09:23:41
Lol RM

And remember, people were worrying this time last year because we didn't have a very active window. And it wasn't our worst season was it? We have one of, if not the best team in the world, they are in their prime. We will be fine. If city can't beat lyon in the biggest game they've had for donkeys, they are beatable. If they're beatable I don't see us getting blown away. You lose 3 or 4 matches all season and it's over. The levels us and city have set are unprecedented and phenomenal. They're an amazing team. Probably the best offensively I've ever seen, certainly up there. But Liverpool are more rounded. Might not score as many but we concede far less. Physically stronger too. Its a fascinating match up really. Again, they're the ones who got blown away.

Admittedly we won a lot by just one goal, often late goals. If they were draws it would have been a lot closer. But they weren't were they. We have a strong mentality too. We are a very strong team in every department. Trying to be objective I'd have to have us as favourites, and not just because we won by 18 points.

21 Aug 2020 12:49:34
That's a really, really good point faith. I guess all fans think it, but ours our truly amongst the best and most passionate. I think our 12th man is incredibly important. We will miss it way more than city's 12 men.

Whether it was taking the foot off the peddle after getting over the line, I'm not sure. I'm sure it played a part. But perhaps not having our fans also played a part in our dip in form.

That's such a good point faith.

D'you know what though? Now we have gotten the monkey off the back and won the league again. I don't feel as much expectation going into this season. If we don't win the league it won't be as bad as it would if we didn't win it this year. Of course I want to retain the title. And of course we go in as favourites. But the frustration if we don't do it will not be anywhere near as much as usual.

I'll be highly surprised if we don't pick up at least one piece of silverware though, not including the charity shield. I'd like the two domestic cups so klopp can have the collection. Just the fa cup and Hendo has the set.
