You may call me negative but with Chelsea, United, Arsenal and of course now much stronger than last season, and Liverpool being hamstrung by lack of funds unlike any other top 6 team, I'm not so confident about Liverpool retaining a top four place, let alone retaining the league title. No successful team in any league has gone four transfer windows without strengthening its squad. I can't see Liverpool going to Stamford Bridge and getting three points this time round as things stand. Also, teams going to Anfield will park the bus knowing there's hardly any creativity in midfield.

As you say, the team hasn't changed personal a whole lot over the last few seasons, but mentally it has. The team now believes in itself and doesn't panic like it used too. Teams have been sitting back at Anfield the last few seasons and it hasn't done us any harm. We will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.

Is this a wind up? We (liverpool fans) are so used to our team falling short and needing strengthening, that I don't think we can handle it when we don't need strengthening and are on top.

All season people have been saying "who shall we sign, what do we need" and the answer was always a back up lb and maybe someone who can play across the front three.

Err, did we not sign Adrian and Lonergan as backup GKs when we needed them OR sign Minamino in Jan OR sign Tsimikas at LB this window as much needed LB cover OR did I sleep thru all that these signings and these players magically appear?

Oh, I get it. This OP is pissed cos we are not “strengthening” the way HE wants as in, spending 250m on players the way Chelsea are or the way Utd have been pissing money out their arses yet their first 11 has the same wholes in it as they did last season. Or that we did not sign the players I mentioned for big money, yeah? As I said, emotional rants with no substance are not worth debating.
