I don't think the mane rumour has legs. I'm only guessing. I think the rumour came out of Barcelona liverpool wjinaldum saga. Some representative of us or theirs seen at liverpool and someone assumed ot would be mane (plays on couts side) when in fact its gini they were discussing.

I don't see mane leaving. And I don't see us rolling over for the ex Everton manager and saying "yep, come poach our best players"

On a different tack, 15mil sedms far far too cheap for gini. If fab is 40mil and keita 55mil, surely gini is 40mil at least? I know it's his last year but I'd rather him play for us for another year than have no gini and 15mil. We couldn't even get jamal Lewis for that sort of money. How come one of the worlds finest cms is only 15mil?

Ed says there's a genuine interest from both Barcelona and Mane's side and he's generally not been wrong in these things. I don't think it'll go anywhere this window, though, and I'm fully confident Mane will continue to give the club his all. He may go next summer or the summer after.

As for £15mish for Wijnaldum vs. what we paid for Fabs and Keita, it's not enough to factor in he's a player his final year, he's a player in his final year who's going to be 30 in 2 months. Fabinho was 25 when he signed and Keita 23. Plus there's been some buoyancy taken out of the market since those transfers too. Obviously I'd like to see us get more than that, but I don't think you can compare it to the Fabinho and Keita transfers.

I think £22m is reasonable (sure Ed002 said that might be the fee, but i apologise if i've remembered wrong) . He's a very good player, however he's 30 and he only has 9 left months on his contract.

If Thiago in the same scenario is only worth €30m then Gini is not worth that much as Thiago is a year younger and is genuinely world class.

I think you are spot on about Mane though, Robbie. I don't see him moving this summer now. Maybe next summer if/ when Messi walks for free.

I would loathe to lose Mane to Barcelona this summer. But we need to come to the realisation that one of Mane or Salah will need to be sold to fund the inevitable rebuild of our forward line in the near future.
There are quality young players in the market we can get for good prices like Chiesa, Moussa Diaby, Rashica etc to replace Mane or Salah.
I trust Klopp to bring in the right player if Mane does leave (Moussa Diaby would be ideal) but I just don't see Barcelona stumping up the asking price. And I very much doubt we would want any of their deadwood players in part exchange anyways.

More than likely Indian but maybe in the 3 or 4 years of peak performance Salah and Mane are coming into weeew can find der replacements without breaking the bank in the meantime. its what Klopp does, I remember the negative posts on here when we were buying Salah/ Mane. i'd love us not 2 have to sell both over the next couple of years but instead ready young players like Elliott to eventually take their place.

There is NO Barcelona player in that squad that I would want so they can kick rocks with that rubbish. If they want Mane, they are going to have to pay up straight cash or again, they can kick rocks.

As for Mane leaving this summer or in this window? Non-starter. He
and his reps. can be interested in the move BUT so did Salah's reps. and RM. Where is Salah playing now? Exactly. The End.
