Anyone in any doubt about Salah's value to us today? Even aside from the goals he's been brilliant, imo.

Agreed mate
But we got away with one today and he saved us.

I think since it seems to be commen knowledge that he was flirting with real Madrid, and i don't think the fans have warmdd to him as much as mane and Bobby. But he's probably the best of the three. His numbers are astonishing, and it's quite astonishing that he is not worshipped by us fans. He's our messi. I hope he stays for rest of his career coz he's world class.

Great game today for him. It was a tough start for us but it was salah's quality that was the difference in the end.

100% Johncrow. A lot of work to be done.

Does anyone else feel exhausted after watching that? Well played Mo, and well played dirty Leeds! The defence was all over the place at times, got to give Leeds credit for having a right go. 3 points is all that matters, we go again.

What I'm worried about in that performance is the amount of times their midfielders ran in behind ours untracked. Klich especially. It happened so many times, and I saw him repeatedly run off Hendo, Wijnaldum and Kieta, and between Jones and Wijnaldum for his goal, that I have to assume it was an intentional tactic to either let the back 4 deal with it or hope to cut off the supply. Which I personally find a risky option and I hope not to see it again. The other option is that all of our midfielders are dozy as hell. But I don't think they are.

Trent and van Dijk made individual errors for their first two. As long as these don't become habitual it's not a problem going forward.

Salah isn’t worshipped by liverpool fans? Where on earth have you got that idea?

A lot of fans have been quite ready to suggest he's the weakest of our front three (as if there is a weak link worth talking about between them) and that we could afford to let him leave, Woolly. Not to mention that if we're flat in attack he's usually first to be criticised and is often labelled as lazy because he doesn't close down like Bobby or carry the ball as much as Mane.

He's linked with Barcelona in some of tomorrow's papers. Just watch the comments if that link gains any traction.

{Ed0666's Note - I for one wouldn’t begrudge Mo a big move. He’s been nothing sort of sensational for us and a class act on and off the pitch. I truly hope he stays for this season at least. I very much doubt Barca could afford him.

The fact that every time they got in behind they were caught offside proves a successful defending mechanism. Their first 2 goals were not played with balls in behind our last defender and with their 3rd goal we were sitting in our own box and our midfield were too slow to stop the runs but there was no other examples where they ever cut us open without being offside every time. That's a defensive plan that is used on purpose so don't be fooled into thinking a striker who gets flagged offside 6 or 7 times and looks like he's ripping the backline open with his runs even though he's being out witted by the defence each time. With VAR removing offsides being called with margins of error we can benefit from knowing a correct call will be made which reduces the risk factor to an extent.

Same as 5-3 Chelsea game. Haven’t learnt from that. Defence and Firmino were shocking, Salah best I’ve seen him for a long time. Thought jones did well when he came on.
