ed001 you Like me and lots of reds feel like Naby has had more than enough chances to prove himself. Do you know if there is any thought of this from inside the club. It feels like he is getting a lot more chances than everybody else.

{Ed001's Note - not yet there isn't. So far Klopp is starting him because he wants him to step up.}

He is also a very good player. Technically excellent and probably the only dribbler we have got in the midfield. He is given chances coz every time we are involved in any attack. he is there.

Tyrion, he literally contributed nothing at the weekend against Leeds, he was conspicuous by his anonymity. I’ve never seen him impose himself on a game or do anything that suggests he’s worth persevering with. The odd flash here or there when the season was over isn’t enough.

14 Sep 2020 12:35:58
He was excellent in Pre-season. I was one of his biggest critics last season but im willing to give him a few competitive games to prove what he can do this time around. Certainly last chance saloon as far as im concerned though.

What did Wijnaldum contribute to last 90 mts. He managed 21 touches in the whole 90 minutes while Curtis jones managed more in 19 mts. I know you are a very big fan of Wijnaldum and he was in there when Leeds scored 3 goals. Nobody did a thing against Leeds why they scored three times. Our midfield as a whole was utterly abysmal against Leeds.
The only thing against him is that he is not an extra defensive midfielder and you are right he is not. That is not his job. Technically he is the best midfielder we have today. Period.
But people are so used to see this workmanlike midfield that they just cannot appreciate players with class and skill.

Gini was twice as bad against Leeds as Keita.
Please stop making Keita the scapegoat for everything bad that happens on the pitch. Klopp is clearly giving him a run of games to build up his confidence and prove he can be a mainstay in our midfield. If Keita can't hack it, he will be moved on at the end of the season. Till then, support the lad and hope he comes good bcoz we paid a lot of money for him.

Wijnaldum and Henderson has to do the work of three players as Keita was a complete passenger for his 60 minutes or whatever. Times up as far as I’m concerned.

14 Sep 2020 13:26:45
Tell the baseball cap wearing German that gets handsomely paid to coach the team that Keita's "times up as far as your concerned". Again like the debate that went on here yesterday regarding Bobby, opinions are fine but there's only 1 that counts.

14 Sep 2020 13:29:21
sell Keita and Wijnaldum so Jones can get more game time. that how bias fans thinking.

14 Sep 2020 13:47:24
Ed1, I'm really interested in what you think about Keita? As you know, I watched him a lot before he joined and I rate him highly. Do you think he will get there with Liverpool or is it going to be one of them? I understand it's a guessing game but certain people writing him off at the moment surprises me but at the same time I somewhat get it lol he has shown moments of class, just nowhere near as frequent as he used to do. It's a worrying one but I still have hope that he'll step up. What do you think?

{Ed001's Note - I think he has the potential to be truly world class but his head is up his backside and he is never going to achieve that level with us. He is too busy flaunting his wealth on social media these days to really buckle down and make the most of his career. There are so many warning signs of a player that thinks he has already made it and no longer needs to make that extra effort to reach the top.

The worst of it though is the way he is playing, he is not just half-arsed off the ball but he is now shirking tackles and ducking out of the way of the ball. That is unforgivable and you simply cannot have that in the middle of the pitch. Your midfield have to be willing to fight to earn your team the right to play the way you want to play. He is a weak link and does not do enough on the ball to even come close to making up for it.}

14 Sep 2020 14:10:53
The warning signs were there from the beginning with Keita even before he arrived when he was on loan. Real shame had high hopes for him. Fingers crossed he wakes up and starts working.

14 Sep 2020 14:39:13
Come on, Ed001, surely you jest! You're saying that you value players with "workmanlike" attitudes and behaviour over those who have "class and skill" (but contribute next to nothing to the overall team effort)?

14 Sep 2020 14:52:47
I don’t think we’ll see anything out of Keita this season at all. He just doesn’t seem to have the mentality to be a top class midfielder, he doesn’t make any effort, ducks out of tackles and just goes missing, he doesn’t offer enough going forward to make up for his deficiencies either as his decision making is poor. When I say that time’s up as far as I’m concerned, I mean that when his name is on the team sheet I roll my eyes as it’s a waste of a space in the team because he brings nothing to the team of any note. He is the living embodiment of Ed025’s definition of lightweight.

14 Sep 2020 15:25:31
Many would agree with you 6times, including myself. I think it's time to conclude the Keita project, and move on to the next one. He's hit the ceiling as far as what he can achieve with this team. And frankly, we're a title winning team on several fronts; this is not the time or place to ponder or give endless number of chances to a player who's not able able to make the next step up in his performances.

14 Sep 2020 16:38:01
If he was making an effort then I’d give him the benefit of the doubt, but he’s apparently still made no attempt to learn English, when he’s on the pitch he strolls around and makes to attempt to get stuck in, he is easily disposed and gives the ball away cheaply and mostly offers nothing in the final third, his positioning is generally poor as is his general reading of play. He’s shown nothing in two years that makes me think he has the quality to succeed at this level and at the weekend he was extremely poor to the point it would have been no different had we played with 10 men.

14 Sep 2020 16:39:42
I’ve just checked his Instagram, I don’t think I like him anymore I’ve no time for that. He wants start earning that money with his performances instead of being a bit part bench warming Tool.

14 Sep 2020 16:49:54
I think people expect too much from him. It's understandable, we paid a lot for him. But it seems unless he completely owns a game and completely bosses a midfield he has performed poorly.

I don't think klopp would start him if he felt he was a liability. He's a top passer of the ball.

I noticed the way he ducked away from the ball with Leeds, it was mildly embarrassing. I hope that changes. I'm not sure what the answer is. Keep playing him and hope he builds up some momentum.

14 Sep 2020 17:48:27
Robbie, Keita pulled out of 2 or 3 challenges vs Leeds and that is a problem as you have alluded to. There was one were he went in with his head and pulled out of the 50/ 50 and the Leeds player won the ball. Last season at Spurs Hendo went into the same 50/ 50 challenge with Delle Alli and won the ball while Allui looked to pull out of it. What happened? The ball went to Salah who shifted it to Bobbie and BOOM. Goal. See what I mean?

We are expecting a lot from Naby cos we moved heaven and earth to get him here to the point of Klopp tapping him up. Also, he is just too talented of a player to be as lazy as he is with pulling out of challenges, not being arsed to track back and always out of position when we lose the ball. If those expectations are too much for him then yeah, he needs to get gone. And this is coming from a Naby fan who watched him at RBL clowning people for fun and who really wants him to succeed.

Well Ed, it's a shame to read that mate, I know he was a bit of a divvy before he joined us but atleast he made an effort on the pitch back then. I hoped he'd change his silly ways when he joined us, I had no idea he's still acting the silly bugger. Shame really, I was so chuffed when he signed for us.

{Ed001's Note - so was I mate. I thought we had signed a future legend, rather than a future bell end.}

15 Sep 2020 10:07:38
My opinion has totally changed of him now Ed I must admit, all I want to see now is him out of the club, we have no place for idiots like that, there's always one! Sooner we see the back of him the better. Have a great day mate.

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't care less about him flaunting his wealth if he was earning his money on the pitch, but he is not doing so. It is such a waste of a talent.}

15 Sep 2020 10:38:53
Well he's just a passenger on the pitch isn't he Ed mate. We've seen it many times before and no doubt will see it many times in the future. They let money get to their heads and suddenly think they're sorted for life, it's tools like that who end up bankrupt in no time. I really don't understand him though, so if I'm keita, at the best club in the world, I'd really want to make my name mean something, history book style because at these clubs it's easy to do if you're talented and keep level headed yet he just isn't bothered. An idiot to himself mate.

{Ed001's Note - it depends on what you set out to achieve when you start off. Some people set out to be the best they can be and win trophies. Some just want to be able to look after their family. His family are now set for life, so perhaps he feels he has achieved all he wants to?}
