I think Grujic has the makings of a fantastic player for us. I rather see him kept and Nabby Keita sold.

Agree4 Disagree0

15 Sep 2020 01:08:40
How many times have you seen Grujic play? Just curious.

15 Sep 2020 04:12:43
Grujic isn't good enough. We need to move him on. Having seen him play a few games for Hertha, there is no way he will be able to keep up with the intensity of a Klopp team nor is he disciplined enough to play in our midfield.
He can be sluggish, sloppy and gives away stupid fouls all the time. This Grujic love-in is the result of posters turning on Keita and hoping for Grujic to be the next saviour.
Get the hint people! Nobody is willing to stump up even 15 million pounds for Grujic. Says it all.

{Ed0666's Note - Salah and De Bruyne weren’t much to write home about when they played for Chelsea and look at them now? Let’s not write the lad off without giving him a fair crack off the whip hey mate. I understand you don’t appreciate him but he may pleasantly surprise you.

15 Sep 2020 07:05:19
Salah and KDB never got a fair crack at Chelsea. They moved to clubs who gave them their chance and made them the players they are today.
Grujic was on loan at Hertha Berlin for two seasons, was decent at best and never really kicked his game up to a notch how Salah did at Roma or KDB at Wolfsburg.
We are struggling to get a half decent fee for Grujic when he is at a similar stage in his career. I'm not saying he will be bang average forever, but it will be a massive gamble to rely on him while challenging for major honours.

15 Sep 2020 07:20:58
I think Indian buzzer has a good point tbh.

15 Sep 2020 07:50:36
Yeah, mee too jj.

Keita has the better potential. I know it's been over two years now, but naby hasn't really had a fair crack either, through injury he has missed a lot of playing time. We paid so much for him, and we've seen him playing World class for red bull. I just think we need to show the patience we are famous for and he'll come good.

I think people underestimate the pressure of taking that no8 shirt. It's clearly affecting him.

If he can turn the corner he could be such an asset. We need goals from midfield and he can deliver. I'm not giving up yet.

He's a young lad from an extremely poor part of the world. He's sacrificed drugs, alcohol and women for the nomadic life of a professional footballer (is he Muslim? Not so much the alcohol then) he's dedicated his life to football. And he's flashing his cash. Its not my cup of tea, and it does seem annoying as us fans haven't seen what we expected. But I suspect its there and everyone inside the club knows it. That's why there's been a buzz about him lately.

He needs tk watch a few vids of our last no8, and understand the desire we expect.

Grujic would just be a squad player for LFC like Origi. would never push any of the starters and we will have the same problem (massive drop in quality) . We should strike a deal with Hertha and allow him to move like Brewster. Klopp wants to work with Thiago. Not sure what is that people don't get in this.

15 Sep 2020 09:18:29
Keita couldn’t be bothered to learn English, says it all for me. 2 years and still you want to be patient?
Thiago is 29 and someone we do not need.
Grujic wants to compete for a first team place and has impressed in the bundesliga.
We don’t need to sign anyone.

15 Sep 2020 09:39:54
I think most clubs in the PL would happily take a starting midfield 3 of Fabinho, Hendo and Ox. or Gini, Keita and Milner (in no particular order) . I’m not so sure what all the worry is about midfield, especially when you throw in the backup in the form of Jones and Grujic.

Thiago would be great, but I can only see the sense if Barcelona pays up to take Gini, and even then it’s a luxury signing.

My bigger concern is what’s the plan B if Mane or Salah get injured. that's a real changer in our playing style required to cover. Or what if one of our CBs gets injured and we’re down to two?

Personally I think a top CB or a top wide forward should be where the club is prioritising, and we should be selling on the likes of Wilson etc. at reasonable prices if they’re not part of the future plans.

15 Sep 2020 09:42:57
You need to tell this to Mr. Jurgen Klopp Funghi.

15 Sep 2020 09:44:44
@Robbiesline: That's one narrative about Kieta here's another, Liverpool fc paid big money for Naby Kieta even going as far to strike a deal a year in advance to secure his services, did he use his time wisely? the answer is no, he did not, could'nt be bothered to learn the language, his peformances on the whole have be frustrating, for every bit of brillance we get sloppy displays.
How many more chances should one man keep getting?
when did he ever take a game by the scruuf of the neck and boss midfield?
I know next to nothing about Grujic and i don't claim to, but i do know keita has had plenty more chances than him to prove himself.
Personally i would give him this season to show he deserves to wear the liverpool shirt and if he still has not made a significant improvement i would get rid, we are simply not getting what we paid for with this guy.
you can have all the talent in the world, but without the right mentality to be the best it does not mean much.
He should look no further than Henderson and Milner to realise what the complete package of application and desire looks like.

15 Sep 2020 09:55:20
Anyone have any idea what the time frame is for the WP we have applied for Grujic. As in could he be available for squad selection by our next game or are we talking weeks maybe months? Personally I'm more than happy to see him given an opportunity and that still applies for Kieta. Time does seem to be running out for both players under Klopp but if both were to come good then it can only be a positive for the Club.

JK23

I might be wrong but he was in the matchday squad for the community shield match against Arsenal. so surely he has a permit to work/ play in Britain?

15 Sep 2020 10:42:00
Tyrion I'm sure Ed002 said that he could feature in the Charity Shield without a permit but i might be wrong. Yesterday was def said LFC are applying for a WP for him mate.

15 Sep 2020 10:58:34
I stand by my previous comments on Keita, lightweight, ineffective, a nothing footballer. He’s done absolutely nothing in two years to demonstrate that he’s going to be even a half decent centre midfielder and not even bothering to learn even a basic amount of English is pretty appalling. He’s never dominated a game, or remotely looked like doing it, one or two flashes here and there aren’t enough, particularly given he has zero work ethic. Personally I would bin Keita off and give Grujic a change instead. It’s hardly like he can do any worse.

15 Sep 2020 11:24:41
Liverpool FC along with both Sours and Arsenal extensively scouted Keita during his time at RBL. Talk what you want but he ripped that league to a new one. Was the standout player for RBL. He is a lot more than a "Nothing footballer". He is technically excellent. Brilliant in tight space. can use both feet. doesn't hide in away games. scores goals. doesn't pass sideways and backwards, always willing to take a risk in moving the ball forward.
People have preferences for players. some like hardcore running athletes but I like skilful players.

{Ed025's Note - well thats not the version liverpool got tyrion, they got the lazy sod who cant be bothered learning the lingo, pulls out of tackles and offers very little at all mate..

15 Sep 2020 11:38:10
Buzzer has nailed it.

15 Sep 2020 13:49:51
I disagree King Kenny. Yes he's been here for 2 years, but how many games has he started? Less than 20 I bet. He has been racked with injury. It's not like he can't be arsed to turn up to training etc.

He's having trouble with the language (how many languages do you speak BTW. Keita has at least 2 I believe and getting there with his english) but it's not easy is it. And footballers aren't famous for their intelligence. How come the Leeds boss is a legend but he can't speak English either.

I've only watched naby and thought he had a bad game about twice. He asnt lit up the stadium like we thought he would. Yet. But he isn't rubbish, and he is getting better actually. It's a confidence thing. New club, taking a while to settle. Big club, big shirt, big fee, big expectation. That's a lot to take on.

15 Sep 2020 15:24:43
I agree with your assessment of him so far robbiesline - hasn’t lit up the games but has somehow always looked like he might just be a game changer, not afraid to carry the ball forward and get into the box.

I think he could be a real wild card this season, just like Minamino. We need players like them who are comfortable on the ball un tight spaces, especially against sides that sit deep, and I think we’ll meet a fair few of those again this season.

15 Sep 2020 16:41:07
Yeah agreed sgred. A bit of the unknown for defenders to face.

When he scores he still looks like the new boy. Haven't seen any major passion for the fans or the badge. He needs a winner against utd or something, so the fans go wild for him. When/ if they start singing his name he'll grow a foot.

I'm not worried about mina at all. I'll bet my life he is a success here. He's a bit like a lallana x5.

15 Sep 2020 17:52:27
I only speak one language but if i had a year in advance to learn i would hope i would have taken advantage of it.
How many more excuses are you going to give the man?
Let me put it in a more simple way, the guy took Gerrard's shirt number and to be frank he has done nothing at all that befits that honour.
His liverpool career so far works well on you tube highlights, and that is not a good thing.
I would love nothing more than for Naby Kieta to prove me wrong but so far he is looking like klopp's most expensive failure.
I don't expect Klopp to start him when results really matter and that says all i need to know.
