SportBild (very reliable German outlet) have reported that Liverpool have finally contacted Bayern's sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, via an intermediary. Any of the Ed's know if this is true? Also what is exactly meant by an 'intermediary'?

Fans discussing transfers isn't going to change the outcome but i also don't think its going to hurt it either. I think the current window is very much like a chess match. Even though clubs have done a little bit of business (stand fast Chelsea) I think everyone is sat there just watching to see who makes the next move. I think Chelsea, City and UTD actually hold the key to how this window will finish. If one of them were to spend big from another premier league club then that could ripple affect the league. For example (going off media reports) if Chelsea were to buy Rice for 80 mill then that would prompt West ham into the market and they buy from other prem clubs and then all of a sudden they start buying and players like Wilson etc might then be bidded for thus giving us money to then spend ourselves.

It's going to go on and on until the last week of the window. It's a game of who blinks first, and who gets the biggest bang for their buck. Just hold on and watch along, without getting the blood pressure involved.

The thing is JK, Most of our fringe players are not wanted outside, or for the money, the club is seeking. The sensible thing is to sell them for the best deal possible or trade them to get a new guy in. English players aren't moving outside. Wilson's fate is in England or Scotland at its best. Nobody wants Origi while Shaqiri is decent only when he plays and that is like Leap year.
Wijnaldum will do an Emre can and join Barcelona next year. Komen has been very clear that Barcelona needs to sell to buy.
Grujic and brewster are our best bet to raise money.
The difference is Chelsea have managed to sell their unwanted players for decent cash. We simply haven't.
Mario Pasalic, A guy who never played for Chelsea was sold to Atalanta for £15 mill. This is how they raise cash.

Not sure if they're a tabloid as such. The trifold of reliable German papers or news outlets (regarding football transfers) are Kicker, Bild and SportBild. This would obviously only be regarding German transfers however. I believe SportBild is the more tabloidey of all three however, a few dubious articles I've seen written, however all not about sport.

Tyrion it appears that way at the moment mate but there's rumours circling that clubs are keen on Orig, Brewster, Wilson, Grujic and Shaq. LFC have set the price for players they are willing to sell and it appears no one has taken the bait just yet. Whether Liverpool lower the asking prices or clubs fold and bid or nothing actually happens will all be revealed in the next 2-3 weeks.
