JJ I love the banter with rival fans mate but trust me they will be saying this through gritted teeth. Jota isn’t going to displace Mo or Mane but he is a fantastic back up to them from the bench and allows them to rest and not have to start every game. I also see Mo starting games through the middle now with Jota starting on either wing with Mane. I still give UTD lads digs over Fernandes only being able to take pens when really he is a fantastic player. It’s all part and parcel of the game mate.

I think Jota is a long term replacement for either mane or salah, he is only 23 and while inconsistent there is definitely a player In there. Getting him in before they leave allows him to adjust to Klopps methods and we don’t pay the replacement tax (overpaying when clubs know you have received big money, Carroll for instance) . I Think this is a great move.

He’s far better than that, really good winger, can beat a man with skill and pace, knows where the goal is and has good technique. Clever signing if you ask me.

OP, Borini is now playing RB at AC Milan or was for a moment there so the comparison does not even begin to reach the level of the utmost ridiculousness.
As for Jota, he is a brillian player on his day. Pace, power, dribbling and finishing ability. The isuue is that he is inconsistent and a bit rough around the edges, something Klopp thinks he can fix and if he can do that, we have a DAMN good player on our hands.
Will he be able to replace or displace Salah or Mane right now? I don't think so. IMO, were either Salah or Mane to leave next summer, LFC will sign another top class talent to replace either of these guys cos Jota won't be good enuff yet by next season, IMO.
