A player I’ve wanted us to sign for ages, genuinely impressed by him whenever I’ve seen him, quick feet, good decision making in possession, quite a quick player, works hard for the team effort and scores goals. Also a bit of a sh*thouse too. I’m dead happy we got him. Plus he’s only 23 and an experienced international, his potential is immense.

He does tick all the boxes that on paper seem to make him a good signing. Young yet already has a lot of experience, 3 seasons playing English football so knows the league, is fluent in Portuguese so the Brazilian contingent and thiago can help him settle in. He works hard and seems to have good attitude, won't sulk if not playing every week, offers us versatile options in a few positions and has that direct eye for wanting to score that mane and salah have shown to make then prolific. His age and career path are in the mould of what our recruitment team have targeted over years and enjoyed large success in those players hitting higher levels so I'm excited to see how jota turns out as a Liverpool player.
