Thiago brings a general to the mid bossing players about we don’t have a mid like that forward passes wer crisp!

I felt Thiago was just okay. I was hoping for him to come in to replace Keita. Really want to see how he plays together with Hendo. He has some sort of style though, which I really really like.

It was the perfect game for Thiago’s debut, with Chelsea going down to 10 men and being so negative to start with in any case.
He looked class but there’ll surely be much tougher tests ahead than that.

I would agree with that Juicer. Let's see Thiago against a Man City with 11 players on the pitch and then we will see what he brings to the table. He looked confident and he did the basics but let's be honest, he had nothing to compete with. Chelsea were woeful when they went down to 10 men.

Yeah, my only worry with thiago is the pace of games. He's not the quickest or the most robust. And we were playing ten men who were pushing for a goal.

But let's not take away from the guy. He's barely trained. Once he gets up to speed with his team mates he's going to be great. He was great.

We've such a strong squad now. Mino comes on, keita AND Hendo go off and thiago and milner come on.

First off, I was wrong. I did not think Thiago would even make the bench today as I thought he would not be fit BUT what do I know, eh?
As for Thiago during the game, I felt he looked as sharp as a tack. His passes were crisp, precise and effective. Very cerebral footballer who can pick a pass that very few people can even see.

As for Gomez, we will never know if Timo would have done him for pace cos Gomez is the only CB I have seen who has been able to match the speed demon Leroy Sane when we played City at Anfield in the 18/ 19 season where the game ended 0-0. Just saying.

I think if any of our players don’t have to prove their cv it’s Thiago. Yes it was against 10 men but it’s not like he’s just come from non league football. If that was one of our golden boys we would be creaming our pants on here.

An easy game to come on in certainly, but you don’t have to play it down, his quality was blindingly obvious and fantastic to finally witness in a liverpool shirt. His touches, his drop of the shoulder, passes, composure, he moves about the midfield in a way none of our midfielders can (in fact in a way few men on the planet can) . I was in awe of his ability and am giddy with excitement at the prospect of seeing him in the midfield with Hendo and Fabinho in future games, its just such a different level of quality and play style to what we’re used to, only player i've seen play for liverpool with that grace was Alonso. If he can stay fit and do what he does in most of the games we will be a frightening proposition this season.

RM, I do not understand this gomez bashing all of a sudden. Timo wouldn't have got the sniffs he got today with Joe's pace. Its such an asset. Fab was great coz he made great tackles I don't think Joe would've needed to.

Either way, it's good to know fab can provide quality back up and thiago can play dm.

Fab was fantastic today. And he’s shown we don’t have to rush a cb signing if the right player isn’t available or we don’t have the funds. Fab more often than not is fantastic in midfield also. For me Gomez is quality and is still the future of the club. He has lapses in concentration but he is young and he will continue to learn and improve. Especially alongside VVD.

Robbie, Gomez is just the next CB to get the business cos well, Lovren is no longer here. Also, since Klopp wanted a starter in Carlos (who is dreadful, IMO) some want him gone so a shiny new toy can come in, IMO.

As for Gomez's pace, it is unreal. I have never seen a CB with the type of blinding, sprinter-like speed that kid possesses. I mean, if you as a CB, can match Leroy Sane step for step then I do not know how Werner would have done him for pace. It makes NO sense at all.
