Very glad to see allison in goal yesterday and he was brilliant .

{Ed025's Note - not so good on their goal but competent i would say..

Agree3 Disagree0

Yes true ed but he brought out the inner Peter schmeichel in himself in the crucial moments which was nice too see.

{Ed025's Note - im a big fan hailstones, but saying he was brilliant last night is a little over the top i would say mate..

The lacazette goal wasn't Alisson's fault at all. The striker scuffed his shot and got lucky. No GK could have anticipated that.
If it was an Everton player, I would have blamed Alisson for diving too quickly like he did yesterday as Everton players have a tendency not to hit the ball very cleanly (bar Pickford which is a real shame as he plays in goal and is very s**t at it) .

{Ed025's Note - he went a bit early for me IB but thats the gamble you take i suppose, great keeper of course but to label him "brilliant" last night is slightly over the top imo mate..

On a separate note I'm a little concerned about the derby game and not because Everton have had a decent start but because it comes at the end of another in my opinion pointless international window. Its going to be 13 days between Villa and Everton and i know it was a longer break when we played Everton last, but that was a dire game and ended 0-0. The derby game is massive for both teams and i would imagine both teams would like a full weeks training and planning going into it to put on a performance for those bragging rights. I'm just hoping that this international window doesn't affect this as it sometimes ruins our flow. On a plus note its only Everton and luckily not a top 11 team from last season lol.

{Ed025's Note - we are a different animal this season i hope JK, im not saying we will win of course but hopefully we will be competitive and give you a bit of a test mate..

Agree with Buzzer, was a scuffed shot and i was amazed he got near it tbh, in the key moments he was fantastic and showed his class.

Allison was quality last night, he's the best in the world for it. The goal conceded wasn't his fault last night, without him it'd of quite easily of been 3-3 he made 2 (that I can remember) crucial saves.

He aws class.

Ed25, ALL GK's are coached to go early when the shot is at point blank range so as to give them a better chance at saving such situations. The issue here is that Lacazette scoffed his shot which wrong-footed Alisson. This is something that happens on a regular basis in this same situation. Nothing new to see here.

29 Sep 2020 17:32:59
Thought he was brilliant playing out from the back or clearing it long when needed, didn’t put a foot wrong in that respect.

29 Sep 2020 13:20:36
Ed0025 I agree you're a different beast this year mate. I think the break could play into your favour as it always seems to affect our flow and we seem to be just hitting our stride. Looking forward to the game but not looking forward to the break. I very rarely watch international football as i find it pretty boring.

{Ed025's Note - i think its a waste of time as well JK..

29 Sep 2020 13:29:47
ED25, I don't understand your point. ALL GK's are coached to anticipate the shot based on the swing of the player's leg and then n just react to where they think the strike will go, all based on reflexes, btw. Hence, go early to give them the best chance of saving a shot esp. from point blank range, which is where Lacazette was.

In this situation, Ali did what he was coached to do. The prob. was Lacazette kind of mirubbish/ scoffed his which wrong footed Big Ali (due to reasons stated above) . This is not complicated to understand. You are one of the few I have ever seen saying a GK went too early in this specific situation. If you have ever been a GK which I was as a kid, you would understand even tho, you don't need to have been a GK to understand.

{Ed025's Note - my main point was with the call of "brilliant" for last nights showing by alisson RM, i did say the goal was not his fault but if he had have saved it then yes his performance would have been excellent...but he never so his performance would be deemed in my book as good which i think is fair..

29 Sep 2020 13:33:07
To be fair, Alisson did get at least hand to the ball before it went in. Pickford would have needed a step ladder and arm extenders to have even got that close ;)

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that 6times, which is why i can never see me calling him "brilliant" mate..

29 Sep 2020 13:39:10
It's a shame ed that the blue fans aren't getting too see the new signings flourish on the pitch in the flesh goodison would be rocking as james is still world class, allan pure steal, doucore pure energy with richy and lewin growing as players . The manager speaks for himself he has already put the wheels in motion with his signings.

{Ed025's Note - yeah hailstones its unlucky, but all teams are in the same boat mate..

29 Sep 2020 13:40:50
Finally we are back where we belong tlabove evertonobBut I'm sure it'll be 1st very soon.

I watched Hendo holding bsck the tears the night we won it. He is our most vital player, flowed by.

29 Sep 2020 19:33:19
You can win the league without Hendonyou can’t win the league without VVD.
