It looks like we are coming full circle in terms of our defending.
To have already conceded 13 goals is shocking.
How ironic is it going to be when Joe Gomez is going to be our only fit centre half in the coming weeks, as there is not a hope in hell that Matip will stay fit.
VVD'S form has been poor but there is no doubt he will be sorely missed if he is out for 8 months or more.
Allison Becker needs to return and quick and stay fit for starters.
Does Klopp now play fabinho at centre half or do we thrust a youngster into the fray?
2 key moments from today's match for me.
1) Mane's miss from the penalty spot when teed up by robbo, should have scored.
2)Firmino's miss from a free header, also should have scored, but showed to me a player lacking in confidence, both chances were when liverpool were leading 1-0.
I won't go into the rest of the incidents because they have been covered by other posters.
I will end by saying we saw what happened to Man City last season when they had problems in defence, we need to learn those lessons.
In the spirit of derby day i am glad to see Ed0025 on here, as entertaining and as witty as ever, more importantly i am glad he is in good health.

7 of which was against one team mate. When we were simply dreadful.

I’m not overly concerned by the defence and hopefully Gomez and Matip can build a good partnership, it’ll take a couple of games but reckon it will click.

Matip cannot be trusted to stay fit WYred, you cannot build a partnership when one side is unreliable, i took into account the 7 goals vs villa but the facts are these since the 3-0 loss to watford the defence has been shocking, as it was once again today, what happens if VVD, Gomez and Matip are all injured or unavailable? as regards to Thiago yes that is also a blow but we have plenty of midfielders to choose from, we don't have that luxury in the centre back positions.

Matip is best center half at the club. He will stay fit once Alison is back we will concede less. Gomez and Adrian in the same team create panic for me it’s a goal start for the opposition. We’d need to score 3 in every game. Hope big virg and Thiago recover both very lucky as they where career ending challenges very lucky.

Don’t panic mate, what will be will be. Matip may surprise us and just need a solid run of games to stay fit.

Phillips May come in and smash it or we may just look to go gung ho and be happy to score 4 to win games.

No point getting hung up on ifs and buts, this team deserves our trust and I’ll back them to the hills.

i am with you all the way with that positivity mate, i am glad you mentioned the attacking options, if we have to outscore the opposition like we used to do, i would be all for that, we have some oustanding attacking options available to us.
The Nat Phillips situation is also very interesting, his spell with Stuggart may stand him in good stead should he be thrown in at the deep end.
Klopp has earnt our trust, i have no intention now of going back to a doubter from a position of being a believer.
