Just wandering peoples opinion about Rhys Willams I see him as our fourth choice centre back as Klopp used him ahead of Phillip's in the Cup games, maybe a new star can be born?

Think Phillips is the better defender but is he registered to play for us. Have a feeling Klopp will go with Billy the Kid though.

I think Fabinho will likely spend a lot of time at CB now for this season which may mean that Jones gets a run of games with Thiago in Fabs position. That could be one positive that comes out of this.

NorthYorkshireRed, I think so too. With Hendo back, he can step in at the DM role should that happen, with TA in his CM role and Gini, Curtis, Naby, Milner to step in as depth when needed.

My main thing tho, is getting Big Al back in goal. That could mitigate the vulnerabilities VVD's absence has caused immensely, IMO.

Let's not get carried away with the Koumetio stuff. We've all seen it before. Klopp puts in youngsters in preseason games and gushes about them in the press (Woodburn, Ojo, Hoever, etc) and we know where they all are now. He tries to build them up publicly to keep their progress going. I wouldn't put too much importance there, the proof is always in the pudding. Phillips and Williams before Koumetio for me. And Fabinho before either of these two, provided Matip and Gomez are healthy.

Got nothing against Rhys just feel he's more right sided CB and Koumetio is better than him as a left sided CB. I'm usually wrong though. Klopp will have the answer.
