I don't know if it's just me or not we all have our different opinions but this season I just couldn't give a damn about. Before I carry on I want to say I believe we will win the league, I'm almost certain about it but I have no passion for this season. The VAR, the refs, C. V., the stupid money, I just think my head is being turned from football.

I love Liverpool and that's something which is impossible to change for me but the game is getting beyond a joke.

One thing for sure is, I won't be watching every game of the season. We've had a rough start, it's not about that though, every team has and every team will have more crazy results this season, we knew this already but for me the game isn't enjoyable at all at the moment.

Anyone else feeling the same way?

Agree9 Disagree0

I'm feeling the opposite actually Salah, mate. Football is a helpful distraction for me to escape the harsh realities of the world we're currently living in, so I try to watch every minute of every game. I'd even watch the U23s if I could find a stream regularly enough. Another thing I'm noticing this season is I also watch more of some other Premier League games at the weekend not involving Liverpool, which I didn't used to when I had more of a an outdoor social life. It's easy and low stress watching games that I don't really care about the result, the finale of Spurs vs West Ham this weekend was particularly rewarding.

The money drove me away from football a long time ago.
I only realised by how much when we won the league and my celebration was a nod of the head and a “hmph”

The introduction of VAR has cemented it.

Like you, I still love the club and will always look at the results, but that’s as far as it goes these days.

Agree with everything your saying mate.

@Salah, I get where you’re coming from. The Everton match was a massive low, with the VAR decisions and VVD injury. Try and think of it differently, if we win the league under these circumstances don’t you think it would be a greater achievement than last years?

@JurgenMeister, I am with you. For me it’s a great escape from the pressures that come with life but more so under these weird and uncertain times. I like watching other teams play as well and the Spurs vs The Hammers was a great watch and reminds you why you love this game.

I started feeling this way a few hours ago. maybe around the time confirmation of VVD's injury hit the news.

nah seriously. I care what happens. I think, and I would hope our team and staff, are keen to run it back and do it again. at the very least, as always I just want us to be competitive for honours. I think we look great (except vs Villa obvs. ) and continue our progression.

Salah, I think I agree with you mate. I invest a lot of myself into Football, so much that things like Saturday can ruin my weekend's. It's almost like I need to take a step back and focus on more important things in my life.

I just love this club so damn much that I want my happiness to coincide with the team's. Winning the league has certainly helped go a long way though.

Salah i totally understand where you are coming from but i also fall on the other side of the fence. The only reason being is i work away from home in the week and back at the start of march i managed to blag a ridiculous loyalty customer deal with sky allowing me for the first time to ever have BT sport. Since the season has started I've been able to watch football more or less every night whilst away form my family so its been a nice distraction and makes the weeks go faster. The VVD injury and Var fiasco feels like a kick in the teeth but like others I'm enjoying watching some of the other games with no nerves or nothing riding on the game.

It's not the same without the fans. But I love the club too much not to care.

And Tristan, do you not think your relativly subdued reaction to the title was due to it being wrapped up months before really?

And I agree, it's a great escape from the harsh reality of life. It makes me feel proud, people like Henderson and klopp are inspirational.

This season somwhow feels less important and I think that's coz we finally got the monkey off the back. That almost feral hunger isn't there.

We are more than one player. I don't think we should give up. I fancy Joe and Joel to really step up.

19 Oct 2020 12:30:28
I'm with you Salah. I've been slowly getting there for years. For me it is more with the stupid money than anything.

19 Oct 2020 12:43:52
Salah, yes mate, me. I hate football without supporters, plus everything else you've said. My love for Liverpool will never change, but my love of football is on the decline.

19 Oct 2020 12:55:34
@Robbiesline it could’ve been a little I suppose, but there’s been a number of times when I’ve been nonplussed by it all.
I felt the same during Houllier and Rafa’s reign as well. That was mainly due to the dire football mind.

19 Oct 2020 13:54:55
Football for me, went on the decline once the Premier League was formed, and all the money that came with it back in 92, guess I’m just a bit old skool.

VAR is horses for courses, we’ve had decisions go our way, we’ve had decisions go against us, it’s just one of those things unfortunately. I’m more annoyed at the VVD tackle than the disallowed goal.

Losing VVD is a nightmare, it certainly makes us less stronger at the back, thankfully we have Alisson back soon. I just hope Matip can stay fit.

19 Oct 2020 14:09:25
I do also believe that if Henderson's goal stood on Saturday, our love for football would be firm right now and we'd be coping with the VVD bad news, amongst other bits and pieces, a lot better.

Salah, I can understand what you are saying and I know things are very tough not just for LFC, football but life in general. Football keeps me going and I am happy the PL and footie is back for the most part.

As for LFC, it is tough right now, ma. I get it. For me tho, I am even more excited to see how we bounce back from these setbacks. We have gotten to where we got to by overcoming odds even I did not believe we could overcome. That is muscle memory and you just don't forget such things.

People (including some of our very own fans) are writing off the season already and I as an LFC fan, am disgusted by it cos it shows some of us are only there when we win and tuck tail and run when things get tough. That is their problem. I ain't one of them and you are not either. If you need to take time off then pls, do so. BUT never give up and allow the world to mess with what makes you happy. Supporting LFC makes me happy and I ain't giving that up for NOTHING. Stay strong. Stay safe, my friend.

Salah mate, your optimism is usually so bright. Sometimes when I start to doubt, I read a post of you saying "no problem, 4 0" and it helps me believe. This post has affected me more than any for a while. Don't give up mate. I know the money is ridiculous and var seems to be a way for someone to orchestrate results. We won that match, I cannot understand it. But I prefer the nice pitches, not muddy bogs. And safer terraces, no darts flying and hot bovril on the face. The players pampered, allows for nicer, flowing football. Swings and roundabouts.

We just need to play high pressure football, and not give teams a sniff. We can do that. Hendo gini and fab can do that. With Robbo and Trent. We still have mo salah, Bobby firmino and sadio mane. We are still one of the most dangerous teams in Europe. Okay, the defence is weakened with two major losses, but that just makes it a bit more exciting.

Robbie, that's the spirit.

Too right RM.
