Said it before the game and I’ll say it again. Fabinho is now our most important player. He’s the difference between a good season and a bad one for Liverpool.

Personally thought Gomez had a very good game, pleasing to get a clean sheet after all the noise the past few days about Virgil.

Some nervous moments but all things considered I think we defended well.

Now we face a Sheffield United side struggling to score goals an that other team in our champions league group who I won't attempt to spell both at Anfield.

Fantastic opportunity to get further clean sheets an build that confidence in our back line without Virg. A good night I'd say without being anywhere near out scintillating best.

Agree Fabinho did an excellent job running the backline. He'll be massively important for us this season now as probably our best defender, and as I said before, I hope he gets handed the LCB position in Virgil's absence.

We'll likely conceded more headed goals and set pieces without VVD, but overall we looked a lot more organised with him at the back and he made some outstanding tackles in the box.

The problem with Fabinho playing at the back is that we then miss Fabinho in midfield.
I can't wait for van Dijk to return so that he can cover the hole that Fab leaves in midfield.

We all dream of a team of Fabinhos.
