All the talk about bobby but my question eds1 is about TAA is he not fit after the last injury or has klopp tweaked the defence to help the back 4 because he does quite seem the same level as before.

{Ed001's Note - of course he isn't fit, none of the players are at peak fitness yet, they are all going to struggle to get to it. They didn't get enough rest in the close season, then a shortened pre-season, so even those who haven't picked up injuries are struggling, which is why there are so many niggles around. Trent is struggling most of all as he had an injury and no pre-season at all. With the lack of time available to train properly, it is going to be a long road to full fitness unfortunately. I am more worried that he might push too hard and pick up another problem.}

Yes agree with that. The danger is as he pushes himself too hard. Maybe Milner could do a job there for some games.

Markp08, how about letting Trent bed in and find his form? Most of the players are off pace and struggling with their performance. Do you really think someone who’s a little over two months off of being 36 is going to do a better job?

Life in general will not be the same post C.V., this is something that's evident in the team. I still think we undermine the effects this has had on the players both phycologically and physically. In due course, every one should be back to the usual self but until then, let's support the guys.

Spot on, Ed01. We are all struggling for full fitness for the most part. Even other players in other teams are struggling with fitness and no preseason. I disagree with the idea as well that TAA should be benched when he he is lacking fitness. I mean, this is just insane thinking. How is he going to get to full recovery and full fitness if he is NOT playing?

He needs not push too hard and needs to get fit based on the time available to to him even tho, there is barely any at this point. With Klopp in charge, I feel he will employ tactics to protect TAA like he did yesterday in Amsterdam, IMO. And if Neco Williams has to step in then so be it.

I’d say it’s more fatigue than it is match fitness. Trent’s still a young man and he’s played a hell of a lot of football in the last few years. Plus he went from a unknown kid to the limelight of CL and PL winner as well as everyone talking about him. That’s mentally exhausting as well as the physical exhaustion.

Peg you misunderstood, it’s not about doing a better job. It’s about trying to prevent Trent from getting injured. He would be better atm playing once a week and training.

In that case I’d say okay neco there.
