It's quite obvious trent is looking tired just as much mentally as physically and as mentioned we need too give neco Williams a chance too perform and build confidence . I also don't see no harm in trent having a go in midfield not as much attention on defending and his best attributes are attacking I think it would be interesting.

Looking at the stats last night mate. Our top 2 runners were Milner and Wiji. Racked about 12.5 and 11.75 km with Robbo coming third. If Trent is tired mate then midfield is the last place he needs to be with what Klopp demands.

He’s not mentally tired, he isn’t fit! like the rest of the team!

He needs some rhythm and a set of games to get up to speed.

Southern red I’m in the fitness industry mate and trust me it doesn’t take elite footballers 8 games to get fit. If anything he’s slightly fatigued and has hit his plateau.

Someone with his range of passing, shooting and good pace has too be at least given a little go in midfield we could be missing a trick . Williams should be given a chance for trent to fight to for his place and whilst doing that he could be given 20mins here and there of the bench in midfield or right back wherever needed .

Not being funny but moving someone from defence to midfield to make life easier is like hopping to work to get there quicker. Poor metaphor, been a long day.

Don't you think we have enough problems in the backline without adding an inexperienced right back into the mix? Moley Holy!

23 Oct 2020 00:00:55
Inexperienced? Williams has been scoring and assisting for Wales on international duty whilst playing solidly, isn't that experience in itself?

23 Oct 2020 02:14:00
We have the best right back in world football (and even if you make the case that he isn't, that still leaves him 10 years to get there) . Neco is good in his own right, but anyone thinking we should drop Trent is doing the lad a major disservice. At times, he can almost single-handedly win us games from right side of defense.

We know how good trent is but he is only human and so young I ain't saying fully drop him, but make use if William's an let trent regain form a little rest winter hurt .

Williams has about 5 Welsh caps. Hardky brimming with experience.

Hearing people say "just move him to midfield" makes me laugh. You realise it's an entirely new position and not even close to the one he is on right now. Sure he may have the skillset at his feet but that doesn't mean he can do that position.

Look at how wingbacks who become centre back talk about how vastly different the role is and that's just moving a few feet inside.

Trent himself has responded to this comment on the past saying that in midfield he wouldn't get the same time on the ball to make those killer passes because he would have to look out for defenders on all sides where as at righ back he only has to look forward because nobody is behind him.

Please stop saying "move X player to X position" like it's really easy. It would take months to adapt to a new role, and that's if he could at all. Plenty of players fail when moving and end up having no role at the club anymore as a result. He's a world class right back, let's keep him there and not put square pegs in round holes.

Trent played midfield in under23s check it out on YouTube montage of him in midfield.

Nobody knows how good TAA would be in midfield. However, we DO know how great he is at RB in our system. I think, I'll go with what I know than some hypothetical scenario.
