Ed01 was that a pen!

{Ed001's Note - not in my opinion no. I am not sure how you can even give a free kick for that, it was a good tackle, but it was outside the box where the contact was made anyway.}

And here we come again with two of the problems with VAR and refereeing in this country.

1) Was it a clear and obvious error? Depends on what Mike Dean saw. Apparently they looked at it but it didn’t count as a clear and obvious error. Did Mike see him get a touch on the ball first? If not, surely that’s a clear and obvious error? If he did see it they won’t do anything about it as it’s subjective. Although in that instance I’m not entirely sure you can say it was definitely in the box either and change the decision as that was also fairly subjective.

2) I see no reason why referees in this country shouldn’t be mic’d up. It works wonderfully well in rugby and I can’t see it doing anything other than help referees. Fans watching would have a clear idea of why decisions are made instantly and players would have to learn to behave themselves more as well which is only a good thing.

Where’s VAR based, is it Stockley Park or Goodson Park? 🤣
Shocking, although Salah was just offside.
Anyway, I appreciate Klopp’s positive attitude after the game.
As he said “we love it”.
Cmon Reds. 💪.

{Ed025's Note - i think it must be based at the school for the blind juicer if they never seen the robbo hand ball or the foul on berge, but some you get and some you dont i suppose, maybe the fickle reds will now shut TFU when it comes to moaning over VAR, but i doubt it mate..

I’d love to see the ref mic’d up as well but you would have to sort the levels of respect towards the ref first. There’s no way tv would broadcast all the swearing that the refs currently take!

The REF knew it was the wrong decision because he gave us everything after it and up until the equaliser. It’s shocking.

A bitter blue saying liverpool fans should shut TFU! Unreal.

{Ed025's Note - im not bitter marshy, just a purveyor of the truth and a champion of fairness and justice mate..

Ed25, I found that odd as well. Based on the rule, Robbo should have been penalized BUT it wasn't. Then on the contact on Berge, I thought it could have been a penalty BUT can understand why it was not cos it looked like Berge slumped to the ground a bit so could have been a soft pen BUT your own former manager Big Scam once said, a soft penalty does not exist so there's that. The refs and VAR are getting worse by the week.

{Ed025's Note - its not often we agree RM but your spot on with that i feel mate..

Not of late, with sincere apologies. Coincided wth Everton's resurgence.

Am sorry but if you’ve been on here long enough you will know eds25 is not bitter!

Ed25, I just found out that the handball rule that I thought was still in place, has been changed after Spur's got screwed and a pen was awarded to Newcastle. Therefore, the Robbo alleged handball was rightfully not penalized. Just thought I should clarify.

{Ed025's Note - that is still a bone of contention RM as his hand moved towards the ball, its not black and white though mate and we have seen decisions go for and against teams to a varying degree, the maguire one yesterday for example was a disgrace and just goes to prove how ineffective and flawed VAR really is..

25 Oct 2020 11:39:40
I can agree with your point of view on the Robbo handball BUT I can see why it was not given cos Robbo was running and it is normal to have your arms out while you are running hence, it is in a natural position. On the Maguire one I mean, is that even worth debating at this point?

25 Oct 2020 11:57:48
Robbos hand was in a natural position when the ball hit it, hence no handball.

{Ed025's Note - if imitating the model of jesus christ on the cross was a natural position then you would be right IDOG..

25 Oct 2020 12:54:58
Ed25, so should players now run with their arms tied behind their backs, then?

{Ed025's Note - no mate, but the ball was going behind his back and he stuck out an arm to prevent that, its unnatural movement im afraid..
