Ed001 hope your well mate, what's your take on the Gomez injury, you still think we can mount a challenge this season without our 2 best starting centre backs? This meaning Matip will have to play nearly every game? You expect us to try and sign one in Jan?

{Ed001's Note - of course we can still mount a challenge, everybody is suffering badly with injuries. Yes, I would expect an attempt to get one in Jan anyway before this happened. The only thing this might change, if it is a bad one, is to see us look to the free agent market to bring in cover ie someone like Garay.}

Do u think Garay could fill a gap Ed? I don’t know him or ever seen him? I’m not slating the young lads but they are still to raw for me!

{Ed001's Note - it was not so long ago Man Utd wanted him and he was seen as a top class centre-back. Not sure now he is 34 if he is still up to the mark, but an experienced head could be very useful right now.}

I don't know, I'm of a completely different opinion. I don't want us to sign a cb in January. Don't get me wrong if we did I'm not going to be gutted or anything but I don't think we need one, I really don't. This is the perfect time for the youngsters to shine, God knows they deserve their chances, this is their chance to show what they've got. By buying another CB in January is basically saying a big up yours to the young lads who look very promising and we'll end up losing them next year, give them their chance! This isn't as bad as people are making out, or in my opinion it's not.

For the eds. Would Kabak be an option if liverpool were to include a player Swap, someone like Origi. Or do they just need cash there? If so could Origi be sold to fund a move for him. While I'm all for showing faith in the youth. Are they going to handle the big stage. And if they don't, and have a few bad games then how detrimental would that be to their career longterm?

{Ed002's Note - Ozan Kabak (CB) has been of past interest to both Manchester sides, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich but the asking price has always been see as high, although it seemed to be something between €35M and €40M it could have reduced due to the pandemic and Schalke having financial issues. The interest of the Manchester sides when he left Galatasaray for Stuttgart and he hit an age where he could never qualify as Home Grown in England - and that is something Liverpool should concern themselves with as well. I am not so sure he is the starter Liverpool have been looking for, but he will be cheaper than both Llorente and Diego Carlos and could still push Joe Gomez in to the background. I know we have room for Garay since removing van Dijk from the PL squad, but surely by the time he's match fit it'll nearly be January anyway?
