Well that was absolute dross from the fringe players and some of the established ones as well. Klopp showed a total lack of respect to Atlanta with his team selection. We deserved what we got.

What do you mean showed Atalanta a lack of respect? We can’t play our strongest team every single game, we play another game in just over 48 hours.

I know that I shouldn't come here after the team lost games. Yet here I am.

Before I am off, I have something to say.

To some (you know who you are), get a grip!

"Klopp showed a lack of respect to Atalanta". OP, it is these types of reactionary and sometimes, mindless comments that make football debates such a tedious and sometimes, futile venture.

We fought hard to win our next 3 games which offered us the opportunity to rest some of our players in this CL game even knowing that we could lose. Also, we all knew that if we lost (listening to you, LFC have never lost a game till last night), it would not make that much of a diff. cos we would still be in a strong position regardless of the loss cos AGAIN, we won our first 3 games.

But clearly, you seem unable to grasp such nuances in these types of matters cos all you are interested in is insulting players and the manager with your self-righteous nonsense that frankly, makes no sense just becos LFC did not win a game and got outplayed by a very good Atalanta team. Clearly, that has never happened before. Get it together, bro!

Have to partly agree with the OP. Beat Atalanta and get through to the next round THEN play the fringe players once we've qualified. Klopp could tell the starting eleven weren't going to beat Atalanta so he subbed on four first-teamers as soon as we went a goal behind. Im not sure he showed them a lack of respect with his initial selection but he might have underestimated their workrate and desire to beat us.

Disrespect or Underestimation, it is the same thing, IMO. Klopp picked a side with other games in mind cos we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel due to injuries an most importantly, you simply cannot play our best 11 yet cos news flash: 4/ 5 of them are injured or recovering or need a rest of some sort (Thiago, Hendo, Bobbie or even Fab) . This is not a hard scenario to grasp but clearly, this is still difficult for some.

IMO, It was a game we could afford to take risks regarding the lineup cos to me, it was a free hit as regardless of the loss, we are odds on to qualify if not top the group so I can see why Klopp picked who he picked. We got beat by a much better team. Nothing else to see here. On to Brighton.

The team he put out showed a lack of respect. that's my opinion and it won't be changed. Further more how is saying players didn't play well insulting? Grow up if you want to speak with the adults.

26 Nov 2020 15:37:02
What team would you have put out then Rudder? Would you have played our strongest team against Atalanta and then rested players against Brighton? Or would that then be showing Brighton a lack of respect?

It might sound odd, but z manager c as n get his tactics correct and still lose the game. There is another team, another manager who have their own plan.

Disrespect and underestimation are completely different concepts, Red Meister. I believe dictionary sites are widely available on the world wide web if you are having difficulty distinguishing between the two words.
The game is not a free hit unless we have already qualified, which we havent. And Klopp certainly didn't see it as a dead rubber which is why he threw on 4 first teamers as soon as we went a goal down.
