Very tired of VAR now but not because of the decisions today, my problem is the effect it has on the supporter of football. The joy is completely gone from scoring goals, players and supporters are almost mute after scoring awaiting the seal of approval from VAR! I have watched football for the last 20 years and have never been this disinterested during a match it reminds me of watching international football! Passion, intensity, joy is being sapped from the game at an alarming rate. Even when we score goals when I see those offside lines being drawn or a slow mo of a ball possibly kissing the sleeve of a player I just think why? VAR was brought in to get rid of those rediculous decisions of the past like the wrong player getting sent off or a player being 5 yards offside clear to the naked eye surely this has gone too far and common sense must prevail.

{Ed025's Note - i agree with all that dow mate..

Agree7 Disagree0

Are other leagues having this level of interference from VAR, I watch spanish football every now and again and never see VAR getting involved like they do in the Prem? when reviewing offsides they don't seem to show the lines (atleast not on tv) surely we get rid of slow motion reviews, pausing frames and drawing lines accross the pitch, if the ref can't watch it back in real time and spot and offside, handball or foul then how clear and obvious is the error in the 1st place?

Completely agree, just posted this isn't about whos club is effected the most.

It happens to all clubs but it is killing the game. You can't celebrate a goal anymore unless it is a 30 yards screamer and they don't happen much. There is huge inconsistency in the pens as well.

Even then Jordz you never know there might of been a foul in the build up about 30 mins before 🤣

In all seriousness it should be common sense but we have managed to make it look like you need to join mensa to use it. When the likes of milly call it out (normally he'd keep quiet) you know its bad.

I used to celebrate all Liverpool goals madly. Now I'm just waiting for the inevitable micro scrutiny of a slow-mo replay to eventually get to a decision that has no real relevance to 'clear and obvious'.

I have an NFL mentality whereby u have to celebrate with one eye open whenever a touchdown is scored so a bit used to it BUT I agree, it is super frustrating in football esp in the PL right now.

As for the OP’s comments, I fully agree. VAR is becoming a blight on football in the way it is used in the PL. Everyone is getting hurt by it. Did you see how Bamford had a goal disallowed for offside cos he pointed to where the cross should go? Salah got a goal chalked off vs Brighton due to a toenail? What type of foolishness is this?
