Why are united, spurs, city and arsenal players not dropping like flies? Our players seem to be made of cardboard this season.

{Ed002's Note - Training regimes will have to be adapted to cope with the additional games.}

Thanks Ed002, but then these injuries actually could be self inflicted if we have not adjusted the training regime, we are not the only team playing midweek or have players playing international games yet we seem to be blaming the fixtures rather than the management of the players and training.

{Ed002's Note - The players are not inflicting injuries on themselves.}

Doesn’t help the games we’ve played leeds arsenal Chelsea city Leicester Everton to name a few.

29 Nov 2020 18:24:46
Does it matter who we play? The players are not playing these teams for the first time, and our performances against those teams were not out of this world to suggest we over exerted some of the players.

VVD and Thiago were impact injuries from poor challenges. Gomez was from a freak accident in international training and let’s be honest Kieta, Shaq, Matip and Ox missing through injuries isn’t only this season. Fab and Allison also missed parts of last season injured and our captain marvel has always had niggles throughout his career. I think Trent is the only one of our players who has seemed bullet proof playing week in week out the last few seasons that is currently out. We just need to dust ourselves off and keep at it. Another big game on Tuesday and if we get the result we want then we can tests players for the last group game as the Xmas period is about to come thick and fast.

Some valid points JK, and despite all we are still level on points and second with GD.

I think you have to look at the intensity liverpool have played with in the previous two seasons. Okay city did too but they haven't gone out this season with the same intensity as us.

And Allisons shoulder injury was a collision in training as well if I remember correctly. Also Robbie that’s an excellent point. And I think it stands on performances as well. We have set the bar over the last two seasons for tempo and performances whilst doing it without really losing big players to injuries. Of course tempo and performances are going to drop time to time and unfortunately we have hit a rough track with the injured. Hopefully we can ride it all out.

Not self inflicted or anyone to blame, its just at the moment were suffering more than most of the other teams. by xmas it could be someone else and we could be looking a lot better. its just about hanging in there at the moment.

Valid points by JK and Robbie there. VVD and Gomez got injured via a reckless challenge and the incompetence of the England manager who knew Gomez was in the red zone and susceptible to injury and instead of protecting him, put him out to train and the rest is history. Not much one can go about that.

Ox was injured in preseason already Trent piled up and that was coming as he had no preseason, same with Hendo and Naby is well, Naby.

We just need to grit our teeth and get thru the next couple of games and hopefully Thiago and Trent will b back which can only help going forward.

Red Meister, don’t try to sugar coat things with logic and reasoning, we haven’t won for 2 games now, it’s a disaster. If things don’t improve soon we’ll be facing a relegation battle. I say Klopp has done enough damage already this season, we need to get ahead of this before it’s too late and bring in someone to fight our impending relegation battle, is Big Sam still available?

{Ed025's Note - great bit of irony there thunderbird..

29 Nov 2020 23:22:03
Thunderbird don’t even tempt fate mate. With how weird 2020’s been you keep saying stuff like that and we could end up waking up tomorrow morning and big Sam is in charge of us lol. It was only 10 years ago we had Roy Hodgson.

Love it, Tbird. That left me in stitches, man.
