Im not sure if anyone has asked as couldn't see. I was hoping to get ed001 take (if he managed to see it) on the Klopp Des Kelly interview at the end of the Brighton game the other day? As I was watching i personally felt uncomfortable for Klopp, maybe he didn't expect Mr Kelly to basically argue back with him or maybe he got himself a bit riled up but I don't think I've seen Klopp look as uncomfortable in an interview before. Which leads me to ask do you think Klopps point is valid about the kickoff times. I will be honest I don't know how anything works as regarding who picks games and what times so on so forth but at this current time ALL teams seem to be on some type of format to watch so I would imagine broadcasters will want to get the biggest pulls let's say of games and if I'm correct LFC seem to get that accordingly broadcast figures. Again I may be wrong but I don't think clubs moan too much when they handing out the TV money.

{Ed001's Note - I have seen it but I don't think it really matters, it was just an exchange of views, neither entirely right nor entirely wrong. The kick off times is an issue that could easily be fixed but it won't be as the chairman of football clubs don't have the balls to risk the TV income if the TV companies dig their heels in. Even though in all the other major leagues they move fixtures to help out the European competitors, it seems in England they are only interested in lining their own pockets.}

Cheers for a reply Ed mate, as I said I haven't really got a clue when it comes to TV scheduling and other in house matters. Hopefully injuries will ease soon and we can continue the galactic rise we have had since Klopp been here. 👍👊.

{Ed001's Note - I don't understand why the TV companies have made such a big argument out of it, they could have bought themselves a load of great PR by working together to schedule the games to help out for this season. The problem is that people are so obsessed with beating their competition, they forget that sometimes you can get more out of working together with them.}

I found it strange as it's always looked to me des Kelly and Liverpool and kloop have always had a good relationship? Look back at the great euro nights a few years ago when we won and even since. I just didn't see them going at each other like that. The guy who does the sky interviews I can definitely see coz that's always uncomfortable lol!

Tv companies obviously know more than me but I thought a bigger draw for them would be having the champions on at 1730 or 2000 rather than 1230 especially with pubs closed around England. I know which one I’d have preferred as I actually missed the game on sat due to work and my son playing. Maybe it’s to do with other countries but I’d be honest if Liverpool were playing at silly o clock in the morning I’d make sure I was up to watch it.

Kjm, in Britain / PL Liverpool and Man Utd bring in the most viewers by a margin.
I feel that both their fixtures are used to enhance the tv companies other fixtures for a day, you’ll often see us or the Mancs’ games book-ending the day.

Spot on, Ed01. This could b easily resolved if the Broadcast outfits just worked with the PL managers esp the bigger draws like Utd and LFC and great PR would be great for all concerned but it seems some have decided that controversy brings more ratings so have gone that route.

On another note, does anyone think this whole Kelly/ Klopp spay was a setup that they knew Klopp would bite? Hear me out, pls.

Klopp has been going on aandoen about the early kick off on Sat for teams in the CL all week so does anyone find it strange that BT scheduled LFC on the early kickoff?

Then after the game where they knew Klopp would b fuming cos of the VAR debacle and Milner having an injury, I found Kelly and his line of questioning provocative and I think Klopp taken over by his anger and his emotions, took the bait? Pls, chime in lads.

Heres hoping klopp just gives them very brief interviews from now on. always after a rise from him. as for the income from tv deals. Sod bt and sky and go alone lfc tv hopefully 1 day. As for the fixture, surely they could rearrange a early kick off game on a Saturday when you've played on a Wednesday in champions league. As for VAR. ruining the game. As if its not bad enough at moment for all teams with the virus rife and no fans in stadiums, to take away the advantage from the attackers what a farce. Anyone rant over.
Good luck reds
Keep safe.

Red, your spot on, Des Kelly was right in Klopps face, and knew that he would bite,
but who told Kelly to have a go at Klopp and make more headlines,
Klopp is not the first and only manager to speak out .

{Ed025's Note - im afraid that no one is to blame bar klopp, he chose to bite and made an absolute tit of himself, if he had any sense or decorum he would have told kelly that he was there to talk about the game only, the fact is that he went off on one and came across as a moaning little minnie, "poor poor me", i have no sypathy for him at all and he needs to grow up..

I would agree with you Ed, I thought that Klopp have been much smarter, and just walked away, leaving Kelly, to think about his interview .

{Ed025's Note - i love the guy KT but as you say he has to be smarter than that mate, i think he has lost a bit of his mojo lately and he needs to give his head a wobble asap..

For me Klopp can start treating these tv fools just like The King did. Don’t tolerate their provocations and their stupidity. He goes out of his way to be nice, because he’s a nice guy, but there are times when I wish he would give them a dose of their own medicine.

I have watched the interview again and I am confident that Kelly knew what he was doing and his line of questioning was by design to get the headlines they wanted. The funny thing is that Klopp figured it out in the beginning when he talked about VAR and said Kelly was trying to make him write Kelly’s headlines for him but at the end there, kind of fell in the trap I believe they set for him. Like someone said, Klopp should keep it to short answers from now on do the media have nothing to chew on.

As for him being acting like “oh poor me”, I wouldn’t go that far cos what he is saying now is the same thing he has been saying whether we win don’t win so at least he is consistent.

Sympathy? Klopp doesn’t need anyone’s sympathy, far from it. The guy is very comfortable in his own skin based on the many interviews I have seen of him, even in German so it is definitely not that. I think he is frustrated that everyone knows what the prob is (Fergie complained about early kick off’s as well) but nobody is saying anything about it but him. Just my take,

{Ed025's Note - of course kelly knew what he was doing, but someone with klopps savvy should not have got involved in it because it made him look like a prat..
