Interesting to see what CBs might be available or affordable for us in January. By the time we roll into the 2nd half of the season the league will be taking shape and we hopefully be well in contention while also preparing for European knockout stage. Without our 2 best CBs long term we could really do with someone that has the experience or style of play suited to come right in and be ready to settle immediately.

Certain players klopp has spent months conditioning them to our mould like robbo, Fabinho, OX, minamino for example as they were either coming into the league or adjusting to new tactical ideas.

I don't think Klopp will go and get another CB unless one of Matip or Fabs gets a long term injury, he seems happy to run with Fabs/ Matip/ Williams/ Phillips unless we sell someone in January for big money I just don't see a signing coming in he needs to jig around the champions league squad and have Phillips registered.

Spot on, Kloppers. I don't see Klopp doing that either in fact, he has alluded to that recently and implied that if something can be done, the club will try. If not, we use the players we have. IMO, that is code for, "Don't get your hopes u, guys".

He was in the market before the season started and the injuries have made things worse so I think it all depends on the availability of funds.

I don't think we will buy anyone unless we can sell a few of the fringe players, and likely even then.
It might be an interesting loan market though I wonder if anyone of interest will be available on loan.

I was of the opposite opinion as regards Klopp’s statement RM 😆
He couldn’t very well publicly throw the two younger players under a bus and say effectively that they’re not good enough and Liverpool need to buy another CB could he?
But if either of Matip or Fabinho were missing, then neither Phillips nor Rhys Williams are good / experienced enough for the knock out stages of the CL or crucial PL games IMO.
I think we’ll try to get a good younger CB in, some names have been bandied about, at the £20 - 30m mark though I’m unsure of finances.

I remember in the summer when people were saying we definitely weren’t buying anyone and we weren’t especially buying Thiago as it didn’t make financial sense. Look how that turned out. The only people that know the plans are the LFC money men and Klopp. Everyone else regardless of what they claim to know is just guessing or giving an opinion.

Million % klopp will be in for a cb January matip way to unreliable that leave us with 2 untried and tested cbs Williams and Philips! Fab is a mid and a top one at that. He’s been played at cb because klopp has no choice! I’ll bet anyone a cb is brought in jan regardless how fit matip is!

Read my posts again gents. I’ve not said people shouldn’t give their opinions or spread rumours. I’ve just said that the only people who def know is Klopp and the money men 🤦🏻‍♂️.
