Just some thoughts

Clubs with the players to win the title this season:
- Liverpool
- Man city
- Man utd
- Chelsea
- Tottenham

Clubs with managers that can win the title
- Liverpool (Klopp)
- Man city (Pep)
- Tottenham (Jose)

Didn't include Ancelotti because he needs the best team to stand a chance and he definitely doesn't have that at the moment.

My own take:
We'll win it by some distance. It's a weird season, many things can happen and only 1/ 3 of games are done with but we are top of the league with the best GD though
- we had a significant injury list (2 starting CBs out for season, marquee signing of the summer hasn't played much, 2/ 3 of our trident down with C.V. for awhile, various players with muscular injuries)
- had a couple of bad games (Brighton, Fulham)
- were trashed -5 GD by villa
- contended with some ridiculous decisions (Everton, Brighton)

Here's to 20 and a merry Xmas!

Agree4 Disagree0

sgynwa

I think you are getting a bit ahead of yourself, there is a long way to go and though we are top for Christmas, anything could happen between now and the end of the season.

Agree sgynwa - only Klopp, Pep and Jose have the mettle to win this unique PL season. Other than the strange Villa and Fulham performances, Jurgen has played a blinder so far. If we can get a starting CB in January then I think we'll be too good for the rest. Sport Science will be the MVP in this season and we have the best setup around on that front.

Merry Christmas all (from Tier 4 : ( )

Didn’t Leicester win the league without the best players and manager?
We’re def in with a shout of winning the league but there’s a long way to go and far more twists and turns.

Sgynwa, Leicester won it a few seasons back, anything is possible in this crazy season. I reckon 86 points will be enough to win it this season, so there are more than the teams you suggest who could achieve that total. I'm just delighted that we are in the mix, at this moment, given our injuries.

I totally agree Rome. Great result yesterday but we need to keep the away form up.

It’s such a shame, any normal season I’d be really confident of a back to back title win.

Think we will wrap up the league title by match day 36 or 37 unless there is an even bigger injury crisis.
Would love to win the UCL as well and do the double. A squad this good with the best manager in world football should be doing the double tbh.

It’s written in the stars FLS.
Who knows what the future holds
But when we have such a wonderful manager and team, we can dream.

It may fall apart come May, but I’m choosing to flow along and make bold claims and enjoy this wonderful period to be a Red.

Perhaps a League, FA cup and UCL treble?

Wow, that's the first time I've seen that one Fowler Loves Schmeichel - pretty crazy if that's our destiny (and we certainly have the players and coach to do it) . What I will say in response to the OP is that Leicester definitely have the team and manager to win the league. I firmly believe that. Everton could also surprise teams and have one hell of a manager in Ancelotti. The one thing I think they are missing is a goalkeeper as I've never thought much of Pickford. And I'm truly hoping Mourinho bottles it after that confrontation with Klopp the other night and so far I've been tickled to be proven right (2-0 down to Leicester as I speak and should be 3-0 if not for another ridiculous VAR decision) . And boy has Bale lost a step; worst signing of the season so far. Long story short, it is entirely too early to crown anybody or even talk about top four. Chelsea, for me, are extremely dangerous if they can go a nice run unbeaten, City are always going to be in the running with the squad and manager they have and United without CL football will be a concern (and two games in hand as we speak) .
