Happy New Year one and all. read this site every day but seldom post, here's my take on the centre half situation.

I know Klopp has said we don't need a CH and fair point considering the number of goals we have conceded is the Villa game. My point is that personally i think this is putting too much pressure on the attack to score, they all look nervy in the final third to me.

I think a signing would give the whole place a lift, a new face even if it is just on ashort term, someone like Garay or similar. Keep the faith!

I’d take a short and long term option, i can’t see us winning anything unless we bring at least one in. Not only is the defence out of sorts but it has a knock on effect on how the midfield and the attack functions too, as you have noted. Fabinho and Henderson are two of the best midfielders in the world who should not be playing out of position.

Agree with your last statement completely AW. I posted similar yesterday. The issue isn't how good Fab and Hendo are/ aren't at CB, but more how much we miss them in CM/ CDM.

Given that Jan is such a bad time to buy, although I would be keen on a short and long term solution at CB, I am just hoping for 1 in Jan, whichever that may be.

Garay is an interesting one, good defender but has no pace. So we'd need to change the set up of the rest of the team to accommodate. I wonder if there is a ST option available, that the press haven't cottoned on to yet, who may be a better fit for the high line we prefer to play?

Spot on, Zed and AW. Our team is a well oiled machine. You take one part out and replace it with another working part as we are seeing here with our best mid's playing in defence to replace our best CB's, then the snowball effect is as clear as day. I would love a CB to come in just to allow Hendo and sometimes Fab, to go into midfield and make us stronger BUT we shall see.

Good point langland, we have been struggling for goals in the last few matches so a cheap striking option is a good call.

We're still left with the CD dilemma tho.
