Does the Gini contract situation remind anyone a little bit of the Emre Can situation? Contract has been offered, JK wants the player to stay, but still nothing happening.

I'm guessing the situation has probably been pretty much resolved but don't want to announce anything for fear of backlash whilst Gini is still at the club.

I hope I'm wrong. I like Gini and this season he has been playing really well.

There are similarities Macko.

However, I think the key differences in the negotiations are probably different given that Can was in his early-mid 20s whereas Gini is 30, so contract length has likely been the sticking point with Gini.

But given the reluctance to move Keita, Thiago coming in, Jones and Minamino coming in and all the others where they are; our midfield is pretty much at capacity. I think the decision has already been made for Wijnaldum to move on. Any minute now we should start seeing rumours of him agreeing a pre-contract with someone or another.

I don't quite get it. If Milner can play for us at 35, why can't Wijnaldum at a slightly lesser age (he's only 30)? Four straight seasons that he has been the midfielder with the most minutes played. I just think it's important to keep this group together for at least another year or two; as long as possible. And Wijnaldum has that winners attitude. He scored that goal tonight but he was actually scowling right after; at the affront of being held in check by under 23 kids.

Gini was poor tonight I thought. Those type of games don’t suit him, zero creativity.

I know this won't be popular but he can go for me, I really don't mind. I mean this in no disrespectful way to the lad of course but he's one player, any player can be replaced and I think it's gone on long enough the fans wondering what is happening with him. He needs to make up his mind and stop buggering about. I like him, he's a good player but I'd be more gutted if we were talking about Hendo, Fab or Thiago right now. I hope he can stay with us, I do, but I do not like how this has dragged on, not one bit. You either want to be with us or you don't, if he did, something would've been sorted before now. He's as good as gone imo.
