Good evening all.

Just a question for the eds and fellow liverpool fans concerning our midfield.

If/ when everyone is fit and match ready, who is our best midfield and why?

In my opinion i think it would be Fab, Thiago and Naby. I think this midfield offers everything and has much dynamism to it.

Hope we see it one day.

Thoughts?

You have to be joking about Naby right? What has Hendo got to do to be appreciated?

I think Henderson would be absolutely raging that you’ve put Naby in ahead of him. Henderson’s play has set the tempo for our midfield for the last few seasons and crucially he is a proper leader. Every now and then Naby shows glimpses of what he can do, but far, far too infrequently and I think he needs a fresh start.

Navy? What has done to justify a place on our team? Personally I wouldn't even have him on the bench.

If everyone is fit Thiago hendo fabinho sounds good. Thiago looks like a class act and I'm looking forward to seeing him fully fit!

To let gini go would be a big mistake imo he is a great option to have in midfield.

Hendo not Nobby.

Jaysus lads Thunderbird be ragin u lot said anything about naby! Jones is ahead of naby!
Hendo Thiago fab for me!

Just a midfield id like to see. Can understand starting hendo. No gini?

I don’t think Jones is ahead of Nabby. He was very poor tonight against kids.

Naby Keita has been at the club for years and done absolutely nothing to show he deserves or warrants a place. What is with Liverpool’s fans obsessed with him because he can run with the ball a bit? To put him over Henderson just shows that you don’t watch football.

I think you need correcting. Its my opinion on a midfield i would like to see. I don't think you watched him playing in Germany. Naby has a lot of talent. Unfortunate with injuries. This is no slag on hendo as i rate him highly.

I wouldn't play Keita in Sunday league. Wrong attitude for the British game. Not got enough steel about him.

The fact that you have put him in our best starting 3, ahead of our captain absolutely baffles me.

Appreciate your opinion tyronp but naby is the first play I would sell right now. It’s ok saying he was brilliant in Germany but surely if he was going to show the same levels here it would have happened by now and that includes injury’s. He looks like a player that’s got the wrong attitude to be in our Liverpool team. we want hard working players that will give everything like hendo not half arsed can’t be bothered players like keita!

{Ed025's Note - sometimes players dont suit a certain league longthing, and i think thats the case with naby mate..

Henderson, Thiago and Fabinho. With Wijnaldum coming in for Hendo, in case.

Fab
Thiago
Hendo

Seems unfair to Gini to type that tho.

We can’t always have the same 3 players playing 50 plus games a season so even though I agree that the best midfield 3 would be Thiago, Fab and Hendo I think Wiji comes in for a strong mention as well. For me with Wiji as the fourth choice it would allow Klopp to rotate him in with any of those and not see any drop off in work rate or quality.

Thinking about this, it seems everyone wants Fabinho to slot straight back into midfield when our defence is back to full strength. I do think Fab’s best position is that holding role in midfield, but do you think he would be taking up the positions to receive the ball that Thiago wants to? I’m wondering if Gini stays, Fab might be the long term partner to VVD at CB, with a midfield 3 of Thiago, Hendo and Gini.

I wouldn’t put Naby in front of Hendo from a pecking order point of view.

But, there is a player in there when it comes to Naby, it’s his fitness that is a real issue. An injury ( ish ) free season and we would be seeing the benefits, he can pick a pass and does look to go forward.

Alas, I fear Naby will not overcome his injury prone seasons - shame.
