Watching a few clips of Thiago last nite have to say I’ve never seen a player kick a ball
Like him the it moves the weight he puts on the ball!
It’s like when I was a kid you could buy those light plastic balls kick them and they would go every direction!
The man makes it look so easy!
If he stays fit and gets in the groove he’s going to ruin teams!
Also for a small chap them man wins some amount of aerial duels!
He’s the business this fella!

That song to the tune of ‘Cuba’ is absolutely perfect for him.
I know the young Villa lads were tired out but it looked like Thiago had just been teleported from another dimension, he was so far in advance of thought and deed than anyone else.

Keeping things in perspective, he has started 2 games from which we only got 1 point. His passing v Southampton was poor by anyone’s standards. He has played a half against 10 men and a half against under 18’s. he has potential to be great for Liverpool but he has done nothing at all yet.

He destroyed Everton mark then nearly had his leg snapped in 2 he’s coming back from a serious injury! We’ve never had a player like him he’d pass a ball through the eye of a needle!

He wasn’t at his best against Southampton but neither were the rest of the Team. They also weren’t at their best against Fulham, Wba and Newcastle without him. The positive for me was you could arguably say he was our best player against Saints in what was his first start in over 3 months. He was again arguably our best player against Newcastle and played 17 mins. The guy is world class and can do things that the rest of our midfield can’t (that’s not a dig at our midfield) . I’m looking forward to seeing a lot more of him.

He hasn’t done anything yet. Let’s save the massive praise until he actually does something on the pitch. Utd is a must win IMO so we can praise him after that. He has done both yet.

We drew against Everton so clearly he didn’t destroy them.

09 Jan 2021 13:08:07
How can you think he was the best player v Southampton he was really poor.

09 Jan 2021 13:15:41
Because it’s my opinion mark. I thought he was you clearly don’t . None of us are right or wrong. That’s the beauty of the game.

Needs to improve his pressing, tackling, being right side of players attacking and get up to speed with the pace of the premier league. Looks like he will be amazing though and exactly what we need to vary the play down the wings and go through the centre as teams are now closing our options down the wings more.

Im surprised some of you found many positives from last night lol.

I’m talking about ye way he plays and kicks a ball it’s unreal! He’s only new to the epl and mark u saying he didn’t destroy Everton he certainly did he was brilliant in that game the bitters couldn’t get near him so it took a brute to assault him!
He plays the no look pass to mane to score but to be givin offside by VAR! Robbed.

09 Jan 2021 15:48:46
If, buts and maybe no good Jay. The Everton match was a draw mate. He had a very good game but to say he destroyed them is ridiculous IMO. I think he created 2 chances. Let’s wait till he actually helps us win a number of games.

1 player doesn’t win or lose a game on his own. If that’t not the case Perhaps we should start Origi more then. Didn’t he score against Everton and win us a CL. Shaq has to start against Utd as he’s won a game for us against them in the past and we should never have let Lallana go as he got the equaliser against them last season. If Thiago doesn’t win it for us against Utd at least the transfer window is still open for us to get rid 😜.

Nice one JK.

Mark08, Thiago had the game vs Everton won for us via his blind pass to Mane and then, to Hendo for the goal before VAR robbed us do indeed, he did destroy Everton cos they got nowhere near him all game.

He was also very good vs Chelsea when he came on BUT I agree with you that he needs time to get back to full fitness before we start lauding him even tho talent wise, it is not even a discussion that he is our best midfielder by some distance, IMO.
