I’ve seen some posts below declaring love for Danny Agger.

Before anyone jumps on my back, I was a massive fan of Danny Agger.

I just think it’s interesting that the likes of Matip, the Ox etc are “made of glass”. But Danny Agger is remembered so fondly.

He, just like Matip and the Ox aren’t intentionally injured on a regular basis.

Just saying we should maybe show the same level of support to our current crop?

Agree12 Disagree0

Fair and valid point. I think its because agger was a proper important 1st team player whereas ox and matip are not automatic selections in our first 11. Anyways you're only really loved when you're gone.

Also. Agger showed real love for the club.

The lad loved the club shaq and I do get what your saying he was made of glass I think it’s just his love for the Club that the reds excepted his injuries 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Dejan Lovren also showed real love for the club and he was constantly abused by Liverpool supporters. If Dan Agger was a Liverpool player today many people on here would want him sold or want his 'contract torn up'. Football supporters demand 100% loyalty from players but give none back in return.

Jay Dub would be one of them Thunderbird. The guy who wanted to send Taki back.

I don’t rate taki just like your buddie Keita and what?

On a brighter note, back in 2012, reds v Southampton, I was fortunate enough present Danny Agger Man of the Match trophy, he’s a really too bloke, spoke to him after.

Not trying to be a big head here chaps, it just came into my head after reading this post.

Great post that Shaq. It really grates on me when people criticise players for getting injured. It’s part of the game and I for one appreciate them putting their bodies on the line for Liverpool Football Club (and their enormous wages of course 😉) .

Ha ha! In ya dreams Jay! Lol. As I said, constant negativity mate.

My only problem with lovren was his shaky defending and wsnt to try and give a penalty away every game.

Personally, I love all our players, worts and all provided they gave their all for the cause and the shirt. Agger (a truly graceful footballer) was injury prone but played many a blinder for us. His body just gave out. Is that his fault now?

Lovren was prone to mistakes and rushes of blood to the brain BUT his raw ability as a CB (if he was that bad Klopp would never have kept him that long) and his journey from bring a refugee to becoming an accomplished CB played in CL, WC final as well as a CL and PL winner is testament to his heart and will to win. He is one that I really admire and respect for his life off the field than on it.

Same with Ox, Matip, Klavan, Can, Migs, Lallana or even Moreno and Karius and all other who who gave their all got the shirt and helped us along the way have my total respect and gratitude for their contributions to our success. They all played good games for us when we needed them and that is to their credit, IMO. I wish more fans would just be thankful for their services instead of digging players out cos they did not achieve this, that or the other. Life doesn’t work that way.

I nvr said anything negative in those posts J6! Think you’ve a soft spot for me!

12 Jan 2021 20:51:35
Agger played a hell of a lot more than matip, can’t even believe you made that comparison! Agger turned Barcelona down to stay with us, not many players would even consider doing that.

12 Jan 2021 21:00:12
My heart is fluttering Jay lol.

12 Jan 2021 21:26:09
Pegleg, Agger averaged around 28 games per season for Liverpool, Matip is averaging around 27 games per season for Liverpool. The comparison is appropriate.

12 Jan 2021 22:47:45
I’d still have a fit agger over a fit matip.

12 Jan 2021 23:29:03
Red scar face how can you say Matip not a first choice? Klopp put him right back anytime he been out injured. Love him think klopp does too.
