I understand Firmino is essential to our team, but he really needs to find some consistency in scoring goals.

Maybe Jota coming in and him playing a little behind the front 3 would work and add some freshness to our attack.

We also need Salah and Mane to come back to their best. They seem to be short of ideas right now and the usual fluidity just isn't there.

On the positive side, we are still very much in the title race. On to Burnley.

I’ll get pelters from the Bobby fan club for this but I don’t think he’s been essential to the team for a long time. That’s not me saying he’s a bad player. He’s a good player who I still think has a lot to offer. But he’s not essential to the team either.

I think that game, and Utd’s latent threat, showed precisely why Phillips could not have played today.
I’m afraid that in the big games it’s Fabinho and Henderson again when Matip is not available.
Jota coming back will help up front, and surely we need to give Origi more than 5 minutes?
Wijnaldum was poor today I thought, he won’t be missed when he plays like that.

Firmino has been great for us mate, but his time is over unfortunately. No end product what so ever. Shame. His shot straight at de gea says it all for me. Will always love the guy in the same way I loved crouchie but we have to move forward.

I'd like to see Minamino play on Thursday TBH. I think we've just gone a bit stale upfront and it needs a little shake up.

Thought Shaq was decent first half today so would stick with him in there.

A good win on Thursday and we're right back in it again. 20 games to go, if we can win the league playing our 2 best centre mids at centre back for most of the season then that will be some achievement.

We don’t need to change the formation but we do need Salah in particular and Mane to rediscover attacking defences by running at them. They are simply being fended off right now or they are helping provide crosses that are mostly aimless. As soon as we slow the ball down we are facing 9 or 10 man defences. We have to be quicker moving the ball forwards and run at defenders.

Sorry but a game plan of bringing on Origi is beyond lost. he's been lucky with a few strikes before but he is not Liverpool quality.

We need Jota back ASAP to make the front 3 work hard for their games. We may need a bit of competition brought in for some positions.

On the subject of Minamino why is he not even getting a look in of the bench? It's strange because he played well against Palace.
