For me when Matip is back I'd play him with anyone other than fab. I'd have Fab back in midfield the goals will come then.

I also feel that Fabinho in midfield is key, he has a good range of passing, can shoot from distance and it would allow Thiago to play slightly further forward.

That's a key point for me, not only have we lost out first choice centre backs, the defence has also lost the protection of fabinho in front of them, with him now playing out of that position.
So effectively we're really weak at the back and weaker at the base of midfield, fabinho was being lauded as best defensive mid in the league.

I want to see Fab back in the midfield along with Hendo and Thiago. But the truth is we were top of the league having scored the most goals up until the WBA game and that was with Fab mostly at centre back this season. I love Fab but it’s not like his goals and assists are in the Messi league. The front 3 look so low on confidence. Yesterday every time Salah had the ball in the box he was like a rabbit in the headlights. Bobby is more interested in fancy flicks rather than controlling the ball or holding it up in the box. Fab in midfield and Vvd in defence makes us a far better team but it doesn’t improve Bobby’s goal numbers and improve Salah and Mane’s confidence. It’s like the space Jam aliens have come down and stole their mojo.

Couldn't agree with you more jk23, midfield is fine, but yesterday I thought the full backs instead of crossing first time were taking to many touches and slowing down the attack as well.
