Looks like Arsenal have terminated Sokratis' contract. If we could tie him down to a short term contract do we think he could do a job for the rest of the season? Not sure if Liverpool hold any interest whatsoever but he has worked under Klopp before. Eds any information on this or is it a non-starter?

I'll write that one down as 'unlikely' then. I really do feel that the rest of the season is dependent on whether we bring in a CB. At least in terms of challenging for the title.

As dire as things are, they’re not so bad that we need to sign Sokratis. Surely Phillips is a better defender than that, and quicker too.

Having a cb for sake of having a cb seems a little silly for me. Plus, he would have to replace a player already in squad because he isn't HG. Lastly, he isn't much good and isn't even at lovren level.

Spot on, Redscarface. It was the same crap we were hearing when we could not get VVD in the summer of 2017 due to the tapping up issue. “Oh, just get someone in. Any warm body will work”. Yeah cos just getting anyone in will work. Yeah, I am sure Klopp didn’t think of that before hand. Bringing in a CB you don’t want is worse than not bringing one on, IMO.
