Afternoon eds2
Do the usual big teams have a contingency plan if they don’t get champions league this year eds2. The way the league is going there could be a few shocks by the end of the season.

{Ed002's Note - Most leading teams budget to only get to the CL 3 times out of 5 and that typically leaves the English sides in a reasonable position. One or two clubs live life on a knife edge financially accounting for income they have not already earned - it becomes a problem for them.}

So here is a hypothetical question? Would Liverpool be better off buying that £40 million CB this month if it guaranteed them qualifying for the CL next season?
I'm guessing Liverpool are one of few English clubs that live life on the edge as I'm sure you have said as much before?

{Ed002's Note - Yes they are but they would need to sell or find a club that would live with spread out payments. Additionally, there will be a better choice in the summer and the club will be able to target the players they want rather than the players available.}

Ed2, am I wrong in thinking we are one of those clubs. Pretty sure I read somewhere that our business model is based on potential earnings but could be wrong.

{Ed002's Note - Yes it is.}
