Well, I can say that the last few weeks has highlighted the difference of opinions in the world of football. That's what this site is all about, giving your opinion and getting feedback by other reds fans on their opinion/ view of what they saw. Some will agree, some will disagree but who's to say who's right or wrong.

I haven't posted for a while but feel I would like to give my assessment of what is happening. Again this is purely my opinion and I am not bashing anyone or making excuses for the current dip in form.

Firstly the loss of key players is having a detrimental effect on the balance of the team. I say balance as I know we have not been leaking an alarming number of goals since the loss of key defenders, but the way the team is moulded and built from the back can at times rely on the players missing and how we start from the back. How often do you see VVD spreading raking passes cross field to the full backs advancing on the wings and it creates a dangerous attack. Not an excuse but not helping.

Teams have worked out how to defend against us, defending with numbers across the lines, and doing it very well I will add which they are perfectly entitled to do. The managers are earning their crust with the limited resources they have. It is up to us to work out a way to penetrate these defences.

The reality is we have been poor and devoid of ideas. VAR at fault? In my opinion no, have we had some decisions that have gone against us massively? possibly yes but so have other teams, VAR isn't the reason we can't hit a barn door at the moment.

Should Mr Klopp have started with Origi last night? In my opinion no, he was poor, flat footed and does not hound the back four when not in possession enough. I lost count of times in the first half a ball was played into his feet with defender touch tight behind but the defender nipped a toe in to get the ball. Minamino should have started.
Why was Jota played in a meaningless match? but hindsight as they say is a wonderful thing.

This is going to be a topsy turvy season for all teams. The reds have been in an awful run of form but are only 6 points off the top.
It could have been much worse. Granted on current form that would be hard to pull back. But the squad is still full of class. A confidence boosting win on Sunday may just turn the corner.

I would like to see Philips back in the team and given a run he's a natural CB and has never let the team down. He's strong in the air and let's face it, what have we got to lose?

Mr Klopp will turn it around, I have no doubt and I was massively impressed how he took it on the chin for last nights defeat, protecting the players in public although I am sure it wouldn't have been a calm post match team talk in the dressing room.

As frustrated as I am (getting stick off Utd colleagues at work again after 2 years is not fun! ) I know the squad still possess the players to be successful.

Take care of yourselves folks and be safe.

Mr Klopp was used two times more than it should have in this post. Good post though 👍🏻.

I think Klopp started Origi as a pawn to let Firmino know he’s not a guaranteed starter so needs to hit some form. Players react differently to situations so hopefully it’ll be the kick up the arse that sees Bobby return to his best. Somethings got to give soon though as we’re still getting into great positions at times but the final ball/ shot/ decision is completely off at the moment. Once it all clicks again someone’s getting a hiding. No better time than Sunday if you ask me.

playing Origi to rattle Bobby scootino, my god. Origi is like the gas inside when a baloon is burst. occupies no space. so why did he sub him midway lol.

Good post

A couple of thoughts to add

- I think it’s becoming increasingly clear how critical Fabinho and Hendo have been to our attack in recent years. Fabinho in particular was key to always winning possession back the minute a side tried to release the pressure, making Liverpool’s pressure relentless, whereas Thiago just doesn’t have the same physical presence and it’s creating chances for the opposition to break out

- as a result I’d really like to see Hendo and Thiago at the base of a 4-2-3-1 to bring Hendo’s physical presence to complement Thiago’s vision and creativity. Either that or use Hendo or Fabinho at the base of a midfield 3 again and push Thiago forward

- using a 4-2-3-1 would also allow us to bring in Minamino to play behind Firmino, giving us an additional presence in attack, and another creative player who’s comfortable in tight spaces. crucial against the packed defences we’re facing every week. I’m very surprised we haven’t seen more of him given Firmino’s recent form

- The fullbacks deliver into the box has been poor so far this season, particularly Trent. We need to put more of those fizzed crosses between the defence and the GK for Mane and Salah to attack, even if it means playing them in a little quicker.
