Just watching the west ham game and that is the most ridiculous red card ever. How many times did he need to watch the VAR. Never a red card in a million years.

The refs have lost touch and spoilt the game. They just want to make a name for themselves. They need to be interviewed post match to explain what they have done and why. They shouldn't be able to hide in silence any longer.

{Ed047's Note - just watched that, unbelievable, Mike Dean, what a prick!

Agree6 Disagree0

I’ve lost the love of the game because of it!
Why can’t we hear what’s being said etc!
Game is ruined.

06 Feb 2021 19:44:47
Don’t forget the tool in the VAR room, he thought the same. Unbelievable.

06 Feb 2021 19:38:58
Ed47 Lee Mason was VAR, him and Dean what a team?

{Ed047's Note - a dream team of buffoons! What a pair🤦‍♂️

That red card was a joke, Stevie wonder could see that was unintentional! When will officials be held accountable for their mistakes now that they’re using video technology?

06 Feb 2021 20:14:00
Never a red, apparently mitrovic even said it was accidental. Game is gone and they have now just encouraged players to complain if there accidently tapped in the face. The whole thing is an absolute joke.

Football has been a huge point of our lives and officials are killing it. Hopefully someone sees sense but apparently the one in charge isn't much better. Might go and watch chess instead.

06 Feb 2021 20:15:24
It’s clearly unintentional. Just adds to the comedy that is known as VAR!

06 Feb 2021 20:38:11
If I was a conspiracy theorist I’d blame it on the fact West Ham play Utd next.

06 Feb 2021 21:11:00
David Moyes, post match, under that all-enveloping black hood.
Looks just like Shaleev Palpatine, the baddie off Star Wars 🤣🤣.

Having just seen the incident I think that's the final straw for me with football, I just don't enjoy the game anymore.
I almost said it when Martial got sent off against Spurs.
I almost said it when Azpilicueta screamed like his leg had been snapped by a Fulham player, only for him to finish the game.
But this will do it for me, this isn't football anymore, I don't know if it's no fans in the ground, players shameful levels of cheating, or simply embarrassing refereeing, but I just don't enjoy the game these days.
I still hope Liverpool win and I wish all u reds and eds the best of luck.

Said it the other day when Utd got that penalty against Southampton it’s scary how little the refs in this country know about the game. They consistently miss read situations and make ridiculous calls even after reviewing it over and over on a screen. We need a massive shake up of our officials as they are ruining the game.
I won’t hold my breath though.

06 Feb 2021 21:48:57
Its as if they've never watched a game of football before in their life.

The referees and Mike Riley are trying to rewrite how they interpret the laws of the game to take away criticism. They won't be criticised and refereeing pundits like Dermot Gallagher spin bad decisions as accurate to protect them.

Intent is being defined but almost written out of handball to try and introduce "consistency" and allow VAR to adjudicate. You can't seriously say what is unnatural because a natural arm position is different in each different situation.
This results in the integrity of the game being eroded. Is it really fair or for that matter proportionate that you give a penalty away for the ball being hit against your arm from a couple of metres away while your looking in the opposite direction?

The Bednarek decision again has been justified by them saying there was no intention to play the ball, rather than no intention to commit a foul. If there is contact (if) maybe you give the penalty but to send of is ridiculous.
The rule is being interpreted to take intent out.

Trying to define intent so VAR can make the decision is ruining the game.

Just on VAR while I'm ranting. It has stopped me celebrating goals or at least has dulled the pleasure. If we score my reaction is anxiety that it may be disallowed and then relief that it's not, rather than joy.

{Ed0666's Note - so basically they are cheating to cover for their unadulterated ineptness. It’s like the referees association is run by the fecking Mafia. The only way things change is if the top guy loses his job and there’s accountability for the rest. It’s not even a joke anymore it’s downright twisted and disturbing.

Are these not the same two refs Mason and Dean, that Saints demanded no longer ref their games due tobyhrit incompetence? I wonder why.

MikeDean has always been an arrogant prima-donna as a ref, just like the other fame-seekers Poll and Clattenberg before him. Now that he has the ref association and VAR to cover for him and fellow refs, it is going to b open season on everyone. We all warned of this earlier in the season when we were getting screwed but they called us excuse makers. Now, reality has set in.

07 Feb 2021 12:58:08
Its time they set up some technology to watch over the VAR lot. This could be overseen by an adjudicating panel who could decide, by video evidence, whether VAR has been consistently monitoring the referees application of the football rules. If it is interpreted that the VAR officials incorrectly interpret the referees interpretations, then the game can be stopped while the panel correct the incorrections of the video refs and thus the on-field referee.
Actually, b0ll0cks to that, just get rid of VAR please.
