Be interesting to see who the centre back pairing will be V Sheffield Utd, I still feel that Nat Phillips has barely put a foot wrong for us and deserves a run, he's never let us down, he's a good old fashioned no nonsense defender. That being probably why he doesn't get a run as Klopp possibly thinks he isn't the best with the ball at his feet, however I would much prefer a centre half at centre half than a Midfielder. So given his preference to playing as the right sided centre half and Davies being a left footed centre half, would you give them a shot in the next fixture? Even if Fab is back I would go with them, and now with Henderson out put Fab back into midfleid .
Would we look at playing 3 at the back, trent and Robbo as wing backs with Fab/ Gini or Gini/ Thiago in the middle
Shaq in the hole behind a front 2 of Salah and Mane?
Just thoughts!

It looks like Klopp is going to persevere with Kabak. If Fabinho is fit then I'd guess Kabak and Fabinho start. I would go for Phillips and either Kabak or give Davies a shot if he's looked up to it in training.

Nat Phillips has to play. The guys hasn’t put a foot wrong when called upon. I thought he was the only positive out of the Everton game. Kabak is young and adjusting to a new league and country. But for me he doesn’t inspire confidence and that’s the last thing we need in our current predicament and form. Phillips alongside Ben Davies to see out the remainder of this campaign. Fab has to play in midfield. Our midfield is unbalanced and is a contributing factor to the results we have been getting in recent months. Jones has to play but Thiago and Gini at the base offers no protection to the defence. If Hendo is injured for a while I would go with Fab, Thiago and Jones.

If we go with Kabak and Fabinho we’re going to lose again. Just the same mistakes. It needs to be Kabak and Phillips with Fabinho in front of them. Nothing else.

That would b my choice as well, 6Times.

If i see Thiago, Jones and Gini in midfield again I'll give strong consideration to switching of the TV.

Philips should be playing until we all see otherwise again I’m a couch coach so my thoughts are irrelevant but I’d like to see him start he’s been good any time I’ve watched him! Its starting to become beggars can’t be choosers so we might get our wish!

If it’s got tot the stage where you’re desperate for Phillips to start, we are in dire trouble.
We want those long, early balls to the front men that Van Dijk and Gomez were so good at, and Henderson and Fabinho to a lesser degree also.
Everything is so slow and ponderous, Philips adds nothing in an offensive sense.
I suppose you could say his inclusion would free up a midfielder but that’s gone now anyway as they’re both injured.
So, in a sense, whether Phillips starts or not as pretty much become immaterial at the moment.

Juicer Phillips is at least a central defender, and a competent one at that. By sacrificing Henderson or Fabinho or both to play at centre back has made us weak in midfield and just gives teams a free run at our defence. He deserves his chance end of story.

Phillips was the one who let richarlison turn him too easily for the second goal, and let a lot if balls go over his head, but it was only when kabak did it that it was highlighted.

{Ed001's Note - one ball went over Phillips head. Just one. He won everything in the air until that one he misjudged. Kabak misjudged double figures of headers. You are simply wrong.}

And to be fair to both defenders, they were playing with an almost non existent midfield in front of them that played with all the effectiveness of a plastic carrier bag blowing in the wind.

I’m not sure how Phillips could have cut the ball out other than being as quick as Kylian Mbappe or having 20ft legs to stretch out to it. Kabak should have cut it out, but notwithstanding that, it’s a soft penalty.

The whole thing is sixes and two threes to me.
Phillips will get taken to the corners and over-run and yesterday was a foretaste of that imo.

{Ed001's Note - except that never happened yesterday, so how could it be a foretaste??}

I thought he let more than 1 but maybe not, are you saying richarlison didn't turn him too easy?, no chance would the Everton defence let us go that easy I'm not slagging the lad off and I think he should start but I'm not blinkered like some that he hadn't made mistakes also.
