Away from all the doom and gloom of this season, I read an article the other day about when Rafa was in charge at Liverpool. Apparently they had deals in place to sign David Silva, David Villa and Dani Alves over a few transfer windows. But apparently Rick Parry who was chairman at the time pulled the plug on them all due to really stupid reasons. We could of literally had the Spanish team playing for us! Not sure how true it all is but imagine if those deals went through!

What a team that would of been, we'd of been unstoppable for 2-3 seasons. If only we had such supportive owners like we do now when Rafa was in charge.

Don't forget Parry pulled the plug on a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo too! Although I believe that was under Houllier and not Rafa.

Aguero for £7.5 mil agreed, but thought that was far too much for untested South American teenager,
So went in for Voronin instead🙄.

I thought Rafa himself decided to pass on Alves because he didn't think he'd be at his best at either right back or right mid in his system.

Silva and Villa were big misses though.

David Villa was one of the all time great strikers. What a player!
