Just watching the post match annalyisis and it got me thinking who was the better player, keane or souness. im too young to have seen souness so I'd love to hear any of the eds and posters opinions.

Too close to call for me. Both excellent midfielders., both had dickhead moments too. It’s a draw.

Souness by a mile. He was a far better footballer than Keane, better range of passing, more of a goal threat and a more intelligent footballer to go along with the violent streak. Peak Souness would kick Keane into another postcode.

they were both brilliant leaders for their respective teams. I do agree with 6Times that Souness shades him with regarding to passing and goal threat. that's not to downplay Keane, he was a major part of Manu being such a successful team.

Souness all day . To see him in his pomp, he owned the pitch. As that team used to say " if you want to play we"ll play, but, if you want a fight we can do that too!

Roy Keane was a good player but he is a hypocrite and a total dose to listen to. It’s the same “not good enough / that’s his job / my daughter could have played in that game” tripe every week. Fair play to Redknapp for calling him on it today.

Keane also regularly messes himself in public. His pathetic comment on Phillips and Kabak just showed what a hypocritical cretin he is. Don’t remember him saying that the United central defenders should retire after they got beaten by Sheffield United at old Trafford.
